Destiny players are calling out Bungie for its incompetence and constant lying

Four days ago on Thursday Bungie released a new weekly update after an entire month of no updates and zero communication that was supposed to highlight what is next for Destiny but Destiny players were highly dissapointed to find out that Bungie had nothing to announce expect some PvP mode that nobody cares about

Ever since Thursday the Destiny world and the bungie forums have been exploding in hate towards Bungie for straight out lying about weapon tunning, lying about how matchmaking worked and the lies about fixing things that are still not fixed till today

• Bungie introduced a new BS mode called Crimson Doubles that adds nothing to the game's PvE and is nothing but a copy and paste of an existing mode only with a twist (players are angry that after 6 months since the last DLC that is all bungie has been doing?)
• Bungie straight up and told its own players "NO" when players on the forums requested that bungie remove "Rift" mode from the upcoming iron banner event as its a mode nobody enjoys playing in the game (at least the majority of people).
• Bungie last year confirmed that matchmaking was not skill based but 4 days ago they came in and said it actually was skill based matchmaking all along simply confirming they were lying all along without even apologizing to people for it exactly what they have lied about the last weapons update when the actual stats were different than what was confirmed

There are petitions on the forums to completely REMOVE Bungie from Destiny and having activision assign a new dev to work on Destiny (no really look at the forums lol)

Destiny players have been making YouTube videos none stop talking about badly bungie is right now in regarding to communication with its fanbase

Take Treyarch studio for example, Treyarch not only are constantly in talks with their fanbase but their reaction to whatever fans want to have are probably the fastest out of ANY developer out there

here's an example, Black Ops 3 introduced skill based matchmaking (was supposed to be the new matchmaking system for players) but players raged and complained about it after launching and within 24 hours only the whole skill based matchmaking was turned off, note Treyarch also works under activision how is Treyarch able to communicate well and act well with fans when bungie cant? it has more to do with the developer studio rather than the publisher

Bungie confirmed last year in October or November that they have not made any changes to matchmaking to the game but ever since then there has been a lot of lagging then only this year 4 days ago they came out and admitted that they lied to everyone and that they did indeed change the matchmaking.. who does that? this was their 4th time lying to the the players btw

Bungie been lying since day one about the game what was promise and such but other then this, meh big deal. Bungie already stated that there done with any DLC and all that's left is just some fancy updates.

I meant more about trusting activision to do shit. They're not exactly a well respected company in the gaming community. Treyarch just seems to handle the community better of their own accord.

People should have had these thoughts when the beta dropped and anyone with more than a couple brain cells would have noticed the problems from the start.

Well a lot of Destiny players have invested hundreds of hours into the game so its only fair for the players that supported the game since day to receive some honesty from the maker of the game

players of the game dont need anything but honesty and good communication skills from the company which unfortunately is not present in Bungie and for bungie to fix a lot of things in the game

A lot do which will not last for long now

It used to be one of the top 5 most streamed and viewed games on Twitch but not like that anymore which will keep dropping from now on

I gave up on Destiny months ago. Bungie made a massive mistake pairing with Activision.

Is anyone actually shocked by this? Activision is the scummiest publisher and Bungee has gone to shit.

People bought into Destiny. Since day 1 there have been shady practices after the fact.

Everything from the matchmaking to the shit-tastic DLC that you needed to progress. No you didn't t have to buy the DLC....but there are multiple reasons why avoiding it was not an easy option.

I had great fun with the game for about a year....but that was after a short base game, 2 DLC's that weren't worth the price regarding content, premade groups being a necessity, lying, and many other things.

While their lack of communication is annoying and frustrating, people need to realize they aren't paying a subscription and are asking for more free content.

There is a reason subscriptions existed at one time for MMOs. It wasn't a cash grab, it allowed developers to spend much more on development on a monthly basis and continue to put out "free" content in patches. If you remove that from the equation you're left with only the bursts of income during the launch of the game and subsequent DLC/expansions. You can burn through that money pretty quick if you decided to go full out with development of new content.

Bungie are most likely in full production for Destiny 2 anyway. So you are just seeing the cleanup crew handle the original at this point.

I was a big fan of the game but now it is unplayable, the lag is unbelievable so yea its time to take a break off this game.

You are not entitled to half of what you are saying. They don't have to give you an update to their plans.

This feels a lot more of players have unreal expectation so now they are asking for it to be met

It's always entertaining to see the Developers' own harem of beta males trot out to defend their honor when they screw and swindle their consumers.

If what they're saying is true and Bungie isn't properly maintaining this game by assuring its functionality for players who paid good money for it, then those players have every right to be pissed off about Bungie and their incoherent product.

@Pariah- the game is functional. They are holding to their word, new content, new DLC, servers are stable, adding pvp, they are doing what they said

I hate to tell you, but if you think this is in any violation of the TOA on Bungie side, I hate to see what you would say about Blizzard. You know the company who said pvp arena would release shortly after game released. Yet, 6 months into the game release they said they would not be releasing it

Then they removed a feature that was considered a core gameplay feature of the franchise and basically told the consumers, that's too bad.

So to sum up, despite consumers high expectation based on loose wording on marketing department, Bungie is doing fine.

You paid them money to get the product they mostly advertised and gave almost everyone a chance to test drive. It's your own fault if you didn't realize it wasn't going to turn out as they originally hyped it up to be long before we got any real gameplay.

Well when a company comes out and straight up lie to its players (multiple times) OR come in to say that their players are too stupid that they throw their money at the screen (which they forced the lead developer to come out and apologize to everyone for saying it) OR when they straight up come out and say NO, we know better then thats the reaction they will get from the players.

It is rreally silly to ask a studio to step down from their own game but bungie did that to themselves, they even shut down the weekly update comments section to prevent further community discussion lol.. what other studio does that?

Its just a rumor so far but kotaku was reporting that not even bungie know when destiny 2 (more like the next big destiny related thing) is even releasing

You don't really have any credibility talking about Devs keeping their promises when you've established that--from your point of view--everything they offer in terms of game maintenance is a form of largess, and not an obligation to a community that pays into their product.

I don't play Destiny, but how am I supposed to trust your opinion on whether or not its a complete and coherent product when your point of view is that the people who paid for a functional product are lucky to get anything from them at all? That alone gives me credence to take the petitioners' word of their treatment by Bungie over your rationalizing attitude.

The Doo family just had another child. They named her Woopty. Woopty Doo is the family's third child and final child, they claim.

This was to be suspected from a FPS which wanted to be MMO without having the Fee. Besides its one game and the choice of shooters on consoles is unreal like splatoon, mgs5, CoD BO3, wolfenstein etc so why get pissy.

Well, according to us gamers and our wallets, we just can't wait for Destiny 2, Assassin's Creed 17 and Call of Duty 25. We have already shown Bungie that we love them and their game Destiny. A few grumpy forum comments are probably ignored.

The funny thing is that most of this will be instantly forgotten when Destiny 2 is announced. People will still be loving bungie, and people will still be preordering the limited edition digital bundle and the special edition PS4. The praises will be sung again. Its just the circle of hype.

Word is they are going to start selling Heavy Ammo Synths for Silver. More Microtransactions incoming lol.
