That site is a god damn joke, they publish the most intentionally ridiculous articles and reviews to get attention. Destructoid is a failure of epic proportions in my eyes.

The game is one long road of linearity until chapter 11 where it dumps you in some overly large field and asks you to help odd shaped L'cie

I understand why many are dissapointed. If it wasn't for the excellent combat, the second and third best characters to grace FF (Lightning,Sazh) I'd be inclined to agree.

There was very little in that review that was objective. The tone of the article was as though it was their duty to pick out every detail, make it negative and exaggerate it. Using the word "masturbatory" is just melodramatic to the extreme.

See? I can use big words too, but it just makes me sound pompous, rather than someone to be taken seriously.

Ultimately, this latest addition to the Final Fantasy series is a pompous and masturbatory affair, created seemingly to promote the developer's ego first, and the player's enjoyment second. Every now and then its fights can approach satisfying, but mostly this is a dull, dreary affair that is too busy licking its own arse to look up and notice that everybody around it has fallen asleep. Written with all the skill of a three-year-old and paced with the eagerness of a virgin in heat,Final Fantasy XIIIisn't just bad byFinal Fantasy standards, it's pretty damn poor for the genre itself.

It's the worst main chapter in theFinal Fantasyseries to date, and if this is the future of the franchise, that future is incredibly bleak indeed. Destructoid

To be fair, without considering(Or considering it, depending on how you fell about FF)it's name it is a good game. It's just far too much a change for a lot of FF fans.

Did these guys give Oblivion a 10/10? About as much credibility considering he says Final Fantasy Xiii has the worst story out of all of them when they are all pretty bad from a technical aspect.

What a great, insightful review amidst such careful use of language such as "masturbatory affair" and "skill of a three-year-old." Hint: When you try and fluff up your review to make it seem more authoritative than it is, try to be good at English first. The bulk of what he said doesn't even mean anything lol.

You should probably put in NBC instead. All shock value and still, **** poor ratings. Lol.

I wish someone would have told the English Hope VA to be less angry and have less of an attitude. He could learn from the Japanese VA, who imo nailed it perfectly. Unfortunately, no version of FFXIII has a perfect voice cast. Snowe could have been better in English, but they decided to make the script even cheesier than it was in the Japanese ver so a competent VA was stuck with **** lines.

Aside from the graphics and the excellent battle system, FFXIII has little going for it. The story is horrible, as is the writing.

Even you, an adamant defender must admit to this.

Destructoid reviews as always are most subjective as possible they can XD oh well, this what they want, be diffrent ;]
