Up to now, there's still no official word as to whether or not Deus Ex 3 will be coming out on consoles apart from the already-confirmed PC platform. There have been, however, new evidence that points to the suggesetion that it may indeed land on the consoles as well.

No less than an Eidos Montreal production manager himself listed the game as being for the PS3 and Xbox 360 too on his vey own LinkedIn profile. Not only did this listing appear on the PM's profile, it also showed up on a senior software engineer's profile.

It's not all too far-fetched, actually, especially since Eidos Montreal's big boss himself, Stepahen D'Astous, had said previously that they did want to make DX3 "very attractive and accessible to a wider audience."

That's definitely great news if that be the real case, but unfortunately, we're gonna have to wait until this becomes officially confirmed. Until then, we're gonna have to tag this as Rumor for now.

So...how do you PC gamers feel? Mad that Deus Ex 3 will be possibly consolized by the 360/PS3 port? Did you not care about the game from the start (lots were upset about the first batch of info)? I haven't played Deus Ex game myself...:3 so I don't know what to think.

Probably. Too bad it will not be nearly as good as the original Deus Ex.

I would assume he said that when they decided to make the game a action game instead of a RPG, I would not be suprised if it's a multiplat though.

I don't know they were saying earlier on that consoles can't handle it.

Well... i am interested in this game but as a game not as deux ex. It is going on consoles? Good, then it wont be like some cheap pc exclusives like stalker. No? Ok its just me then and everyone else who agress with me. Is consolazation a bad thing? Not necessary, i think bioshock did well on pc and it was pretty polished. The real issue will be how dumbed down the game will be. For example if they pull another deus ex invisible war that has things that are just dumb and not simplified (Like all the weapons using the same universal ammo :( ) then, DO NOT WANT. But if it turns somwehat like bioshock. Then sure, why not?

You would rather have over-glorified cinematics and quick time events than deep, complex and engaging gameplay?

Well, I think I might like it if the bar for the gunplay is raised a bit from "barely functional"

I would like over glorified cinematics. As for deep and complex and engaging gameplay? I put it this way, i dont think gameplay as complex and deep as the first game is need for me to like it. For example if it is as good as fallout 3. (Skills, diffirent weapon stats, condition, inventory etc, etc) I would like the game. I dont think constantly upgrading skils to increase the crosshair accuracy is necessary. To put it this way i think system shock 2 is much better than bioshock. Also i think that dead space is better than bioshock because bioshock is mostly and fps. But dead space has inventory and money and much more buy and sell and upgrade than bioshock. Basicly dead space is more complex with more choices when bioshock is an fps. I want a game that it will provide some skills and upgrade options plus an inventory and choices to make. But i dont want all those things to be done as simplistic and linear as bioshock or mass effect. There is no reason on having only 1-2 weapon upgrade for every weapon like bioshock or not having an inventory. I think i explained you what i mean, there is the correct balance that can satisfy both pc gamers and console gamers. The point is not to dumb it down to much like invisible war. You would rather have over-glorified cinematics and quick time events than deep, complex and engaging gameplay?

I was talking about Stalker, not Bioshock :P. You were saying you don't want Deus Ex 3 to become cheap as a PC exclusive or something along those lines. The only thing Stalker was lacking were some good animations and some time in a motion capture studio.

Personally it lacks everything, stability, many bugs, good story, the combat is unbalanced and unpolished. Nice dialogues, or something to make the user keep playing the game. Also i find the graphics pretty dated and the worldmap, kinda small in comparison with fallout 3 or the real zone enviroment it takes place. If being a pc gamer means less polish and lesser quality standards than most multiplatform games, then i am gonna pass and choose a multiplatform. On the other hand the witcher was an amazing product that should represent the quality of rpgs on the pc. To put it simply metro 2033 is coming out. Perhaps its linear and its a con that it does not have the exploration of stalker but i am sure it will be more polished and i will enjoy the graphics, the shooting and the story more than stalker. It will supply have higher developing standards.

Why are you comparing it to Fallout? Stalker is not an RPG...And dialogue? Common. A good story it had, a very good one. Story and setting are one of the best I've seen recently. And just because shooting has realistic recoil and other stuff like that doesn't mean that it's not good. It's just more realistic than some run and gun shooters you are used too. You need to take cover or you will die. When you get shot you bleed and it will kill you. It doesn't have that magic regeneration factor "polished" FPS have . I am not trying to be biased Console vs PC or anything, I've played most multiplat shooters and Stalker is easily the best one.

It`s not like they can`t make the game with the same level of depth as the original, regardless of it coming to consoles. People tend to forget that the original Deus Ex was also on PS2, and no depth was sacrificed AFAIK. That said, I hope they can strike a fine balance between accessibility and depth.

It's not as much as the limitation of the console, but the people on the console you know the audience.

I think Deus Ex 3 and Deus Ex: Human Revolution will be separated games. The first one will be the exclusive PC version with features made especifically for PC gamers, and the recond will be a x360/PS3 version with features made especially for console gamers.

There has been console versions of the game listed here since they first announced the game. As with any such game the PC version will be better & in this case I think it may end up much better, but either way I will get PC version.

Regardless of going or not, I wouldn't expect much. Been a long time and many things have changed, it's like hoping for Fallout 3 to be as good as the first one; it will never be because they are too different (and because F3 is crap anyway ;) ). It could end being crap, even if it isa PC exclusive.

Invisible war was a cross platform mess. I don't expect 3 to be any better at the moment. As far as I am concerned, The Nameless mod is the best successor to Deus Ex.

ANyone who thinks this isn't coming to consoles is naive.

Same with "ThiAF"

I'm not expecting much from DX3, there's no hope it will be a worthy successor to DX1, but it can be a kick ass FPS on it's own right.

With new Thief...I don't care much, DarkMod already is everything I want from Thief in the next 5 years or so

I hope they won't pull a BioShock with this one, though. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed BioShock for what it was, and even gave it a 9, but I won't stand Deus Ex being sacrificed that much.

Very interested and it seems to me it was always planned to come to consoles just like I.W. Also, the wringing of hands about the game coming to consoles and being casualized reminds me much of the Fallout series and how Fallout 3 was going to be total **** but after the game came out, all or at least most were pleasantly surprised. :P

Oh and I.W. did some harm I guess but GS reviewed it and I think it scored in the 8's so not all that terilble - heck, I had a pretty good time with the game.

I really hope this is one of those cases where the PC version will be focused on, much like Valve and Far Cry. Can't wait to get some serious information about this game, the original is one of the most unique and deepest FPS experiences a man can possibly get and if they were to nail the quality found in the original this will be a game for the ages. However very few has had the kind of RPG-FPS gameplay in a long time, so it's up to themselves to nail it this generation, which is unsettling. We have seen Turok and Quake fail to bring back old franchises, I really hope this wont be a Bionic Commando or Golden Axe

You should, it is rather fantastic and has received a fair amount of critical acclaim from various gaming blogs. Seven years of production certainly paid off.

[QUOTE="skrat_01"][QUOTE="Salt_The_Fries"][QUOTE="skrat_01"]Invisible war was a cross platform mess. I don't expect 3 to be any better at the moment. As far as I am concerned, The Nameless mod is the best successor to Deus Ex.

I never played that mod...:?

You should, it is rather fantastic and has received a fair amount of critical acclaim from various gaming blogs. Seven years of production certainly paid off.

Reading a synopsis of it blew my mind. Must have.

it was going to be on the ps3 and 360 then they canceled it saying that its to complex for consoles. (something along those lines)

I hope so. I love the original Deus Ex. When I heard this one was going to console, a part of me died... But if this is true, that they cancelled the console version... I will feel much better now...

The first one is on a console too.... People are silly.

^ Yeah, but it wasn't build from the ground-up to suit consoles, in fact it was created for the PC and then ported to a console some time later...

Doesn't really matter to me (honestly, I don't see how it's so devastating to have a PC game on consoles :?). Besides, both Deux Ex games were on consoles as well. Either way, I'm lookin' foward to this game! :D

But it still shows they can make that kind of game on consoles, no bother. To say part of him died cos it's a multiplat.... Seems a bit silly.

That was a port that came out two years later, there's a big difference.

Well...it's not like there's any chance that it will be like DX1, not if it's supposed to sell well on consoles anyway

Oh, it's possible alright, no one expects to see it happen though... Invisible War is the perfect example of this.

It was my understanding that the sequel sold worse than the original? Or am I wrong. Anyway, stuff like Fallout 3 and the Darkness reminds me of Deus Ex quite a bit and they on consoles.
