So, is there anybody else excited for this game? :)

I just watched the Director's Cut trailer, and wow, it's better than some movie previews.

Definitely excited. From what we've seen so far, it looks amazing, I really hope that the devs can manage to pull it off, cos it's... ambitious, to say the least, for a new dev.

If they manage to implement multitude of ways to finish a mission, at least somewhat of the legendary cyberpunk atmosphere of the original and more open ended enviorements, it's all good.

Maybe, finally, something like Deus Ex will see the light of day.

After watching some gameplay, not so much anymore. I'm sick of mainstream games treating me like a 12 year old. Also taking control from the player to add in another flashy cinematic doesn't sit well with me.

Not really the last one was shocking.

Shame really, the first game was amazingly good. Trying to hard to get the casual market involved resulted in death for Deux ex.

Its on my top 5 "to get" list og games this year ^^

I hope it will atleast be somewhat like Deus Ex 1. I fear it will fumble.

Time will tell in the end, the mere notion of it being a Deus ex game, has me all giddy and excited, the fear of them screwing this up, is somewhat tangable tho.

I like most of what Ive seen, and the overall world, artstyle and music seems to be really well fitting, I love what they are trying to do.

BUT! going too much into action without reason will somewhat be a game killer, they do say that it is not the case.

I really dislike the 3rd person cover thing, it is an addition I can not se any reason at all for it, but I am willing to give it a pass if that is one of my only few gripes, it is not something Id consider gamebreaking on its own.

The new XP/Augment system however is something I can Either se work REALLY well or make the game fall. So I hold by breath and hope for the best, it seems that they sure love the first games, and the universe they recreated (I would argue that altho the story is tied, the basic universe is somewhat its own beast in the new one, not made to complement the first game)

My most wanted game of 2011... and that trailer is just incredible well done....

The symbolism on the beginning.... Icarus flying too close to the sun burned the wax that was holding his wings, and thus he fell...

Technology is kind of the same thing if you think, are we flyng too close to the sun??

Goddamn Son that is a bad ass trailer, in fact it's so good with its bad assery the level is off the chart making the word redundant, on account that no game will ever beat it. I proclaim that the word bad ass be changed to Deus Ex. So if anything is seen as bad ass, we gotta say "That's so Deus Ex"

As a hater of the FPS genre I am convinced that it is time for me to dive in, of course calling Human Revo an FPS is doing a major disservice to the title.

Yes. When I first saw that new gameplay video, I thought it was kind of weird seeing a third persion Gears-like cover system in Deus Ex, but if you think about it, it's basically just another version of the leaning action. Especially since you can just use it for stealth-like purposes, rather than playing the game like a cover-to-cover shooter.

I also like the takedown feature, I know some people complain about the switch to third person, but it's not like Deus Ex was always in first person (I.E, whenever you talked to someone, or died it when third). Also, that concept worked very well in Riddick, since it reminded you you're playing as this bad-ass character, and not a floating camera.

EDIT: I also think they are paying a large amount of respect towards the original, I mean hell, look at the way you move around boxes and stuff, it's exactly the same as the original.

There is a new gameplay video showing different methods of approaching a mission.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution Gameplay Walkthrough

pcgamer_07

I loved that. I honestly felt a vibe from the original Deus Ex wile watching that short video, now hopefully all the missions are similar to the open-ended aspects potrayed in this small segment.

Even the visuals aren't anything spectacular, which is also on par with what the original was like (visuals were nothing to brag about wen Deus Ex came out in 2000). I'm getting more and more hyped every time i'm getting more info. on this.

I'm very excited, but I'm not overhyping Human Revolution.

I know it won't be a masterpiece in the same level as Deus Ex, but it can be a masterpiece on it's own right If Eidos actually delivers a true multi-solution gameplay from the start to finish.

I don't like the third person stuff, the removal of RPG stats and the health regeneration (which is not as bad as I thought judging by the lastest video), but on the other hand I loved the grid-based inventory, the transparent objects when you hold them, the interactive environments, the art and the apparent multi-solution level design.

Promising...

Rating my anticipation, it's at 8/10 since seeing the first segment playthrough here on GS. I dig it's thematic choice and the production levels seemed to be top-notch, but the visuals have looked iffy in certain parts and I hadn't seen any of the actual moment-to-moment gameplay clips until just recently, but now that I have I'm a def pre-order for it. Hoping it pans out.

I dont know if I am excited for it. It looks very promising, but at the same time it looks very disappointing. What looks nice: It is deus ex, grid based system, multiple solutions with NPCs reacting differently how you solve the problems, it seems. What looks bad: A more cinematic approach, health regeneration, from what I have seen no regional damage,

That's orange 'n black, actually.

And it's a artistic artst yle to differentiate itself from the ocean of mediocre shooters, and enhance the futuristic atmosphere. It does so well.. It did a pretty good job to differentiate itself already by not being a millitary shooter anyway.

Look at how much fashion trends have changed in the last 20 years... how garish things were in the early 90s. As Oscar Wilde said: "Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months." Honestly I think the visual direction is great. They're gunning for a 'second Renaissance' theme, and the clothing reinforces that; aesthetically in that regard, it looks pretty damn cool

No it didn't. It's called adaptation, even if the game was coming out only on PC right now, it would probably still have these elements (I.E. third person cover and regenerating health).

Actually think about what they're doing, third person cover is basically another version of leaning, except that it's actually more effective when it comes to stealth (and fighting), which makes it a fairly solid addition (considering Deus Ex can be a very stealthy game). The melee takedowns are also just fine as well, especially considering they take a massive chunk of your character's energy, which makes it a balanced attack that can't be spammed.

As a huge fan of Deus Ex and even SS2, I don't expect this game can be as deep as those two, but I think it will actually be pretty close. They obviously understand what went wrong with Invisible War, and you can see that they are keeping it close in many ways to the original (like I said, even the way you move crates around is the same, not to mention a protagonist that walks around with "baggy" coats and sunglasses).
