Deus Ex Human Revolution is the best stealth game in the past few years...

Once you level up your character in Skyrim the stealth is actually very good. Its extremely intense sneaking through those caves and such. Most of the games mentioned here are stealth-action, rather than pure stealth, so I'd like to throw both Batman games into the mix. The fantastic AI is the key to its success. biggest_loser

IDK i played Deus Ex HR briefly but from what I remember stealth was incredibly restrictive , like you could only perform a very small # of knockouts or something. Didn't care much for it... will give it another shot some where down the line

Dishonored wasn't bad, but having powers kinda cheapens the stealth for me. 

ehhh, i wouldn't even put Human Revolution in my type 5 stealth games this gen.

I actually enjoyed Far Cry 2's stealth. There was no contrived stealth meter or anything, all you had were your instincts. And the AI weren't dumb as a rock either, if they saw a dead body, heard someone scream, or caught a glimpse of you, they would get alerted woudn't go back into their normal state for a LONG time, unlike in other games where AI shrug off getting shot after a minute or so. Stealth in that game took genuine skill.

I agree.  Hope Thief is good.

Human Revolution is a pretty mediocre stealth game on its own. Besides the story, atmosphere, setting etc. the game was only good because it gave you a degree of freedom during missions, not because any one particular gameplay element stood out.

That's not true. Some enemies take more than one shot and once they're hit you become more visible. You have to stick to the shadows in caves so you're not seen. Not every room is pitch black either. You have to wait for baddies to move on their patrol routes. biggest_loser

Course then you buy the Stealth upgrade that turns you invisible and then its buh-buy need to plan stealthy route.:lol:
