I have alot more fun with God of War.

I thought the first DMC was awesome and thoroughly enjoyed playing it. However I feel they lost the edge in the 2nd and 3rd. I bought the 4th and thought it was quite "meh". The story has gotten a little confusing and the challenge has fallen down a peg or two.
With GoW, I think that the challenge is certainly there in the combat and the puzzle aspect. I think the story has remained a little more solid aswell.
GoW for me, easily.
I'm surprised anyone has chosen GoW. It's just so, SO shallow and dull. It lacks any style or epicness. Perhaps people mean Gears of Wars instead?karristonit clearly says "God of War" in the title. besides, GOW has a lot more style and is far more epic than DMC. and as a series, has better scores.

Devil May Cry 3 focused on the styl It built its combat system around doing insane moves. The question here wasn't "Can I kill this guy?" but rather "How can I kill this guy while keeping the meter as high as possible and looking as cool as possible?" With 5 weapons, 6 styl, on the fly weapon switch, it became a pure freestyl action game.
Ninja Gaiden/Black/Sigma focused on the other side of the spectrum. It builds its combat specifically around figuring out an enemies tactic, and finding the best way to get through that. This becomes even more apparent when you go on higher difficulties, when it introduces new enemies with new abilities that render you previous tactics useless, forcing you to keep thinking of new strategies every step of the way. It focused on complex enemies, intricate strategies, and, above all, skill. Like DMC3 is the epitome of freeform combat, this is the epitome of tactical combat, and my personal favorite.
God of War (the series) did nothing gameplay wise. It's combat was bland, but flashy. It had a gripping story, wonderful musical score, amazing art direction, and visually orgasmic QTE. However, gameplay wise, the thing any good pure action game fan should focus on, is very lacking. Which is why it shouldn't be compared to action legends like DMC or NG. While it may have several action elements, it has just as many adventure elements, more than gameplay ones even. So, comparing them to pure action games is like comparing Bioshock and Call of Duty simply because they are both FPS's.------------
I found this in the IGN forum., and I completely agree with this post.

DMC - a real action game
GOW is a casual buttonmasher with stupid enemies and a great story
Button mash on god mode then reply back.DMC - a real action game

Button mash on god mode then reply back. but it is a shadow button masher in normal difficulty? And normal is what everyone plays on. Its kinda sad that I have to choose the highest difficulty to get any challenge out it, the enemies just do more damage, their AI doesn't change like NG.I would have to say God Of War is better game overall plus thats the reason why i bought my PS3 also for Killzone 2..anyways if i wanted to play Devil May Cry i'll play it for my 360

They have multiple difficulties for a reason. "Normal is'nt super challenging so the whole game is teh EZs lololol!!!!11" And yes their behavior does change in God and Titan mode. :? They attack far more frequently.DMC - a real action game

Those who get to play both will say gow, those who cant get both will say DMC, thats my guess based on what I've seen lately, With Infamous Vs Prototype threadsTheOldOlder
Indeed
[QUOTE="karriston"]Ninja Gaiden's a mess too, but it's far more enjoyable than God of Snore. I'm still in shock that anyone would pick the shallow block-a-thon of GoW. DMC oozes style and cool effortlessly from all its orifices, GoW needs naked woman and a homo-erotic main character to sell anything. I got through both GoW I and II by spamming the same move, it's ridiculous. DMC on the other hand NEEDS skill. You have to pay attention, you have to dodge, you have to know thy enemy and timing has to be near perfect, especially on the harder difficulties. Nothing makes you feel like a man more than completing Dante Must Die mode. All GoW offers is a bastardised mix of Greek mythology and shiny weapons. The enemies are horrible and the boss fights rely too much on QTEs. It's got no skill or style. It's just dull.kidonresmartest thing i've read all day I agree 100%
