This is getting pretty bizarre. New hypothesis: by the time devs wrap their heads around the apparent rubics cube that is XSX development, Sony will release the PS5 Pro they are scrambling to come up with behind the scenes right now. At which point the PS5 will drop to $300 and it will be "fine" that it is finally clearly the weaker system compared to the XSX because now it's the "budget" PS option

honestly im also scratching my head here. How could devs do a worse job on a more powerful console. And theres no doubt the XSX is the more powerful console either.

I have a hypothesis though, and its that devs are developing the game for the series S, and upscaling from there to the series X. It makes a ton of sense to me and in that case its not a surprise why the PS5 is coming out with better looking games when its weaker than the XsX. MS really shot them in the foot by releasing the series S. As they say, a bird in the hand is worth more than 2 in the bush. MS strategy with the series S was really dumb, thats all I can say. I think they don't even care though...their main focus is game pass after all and that is platform agnostic.

XSX only wins in theoretical TF, but its bottlenecked design prevents devs from ever reaching actual 12 TF in performance.

@gamingisbad: similar to someone building an N/A engine in a car, you add a big turbo, new cams, new pistons, new injectors, new crank shaft, new rods, slap a set of drag radials on it.

But you forget to let the dyno shop tune it get to get its peak horse power and you wonder why it’s not fast after dumping thousands of dollars into it...

this is the series X in a nutshell.

My theory makes a lot more sense than yours does. MS is famous for not skimping on hardware, the series X is stronger than ps5 by 3 TF of gpu power. Sadly, that power isn't being used, its being wasted away due to the series S.

We might only see the real power of the series X in first party games.

Your theory is nonsense because its not based on facts. I am telling you that you are factually wrong. So, please stop with your misinformation.
