Summary
The game outputs 4k on PS5 and Xbox Series X and 1440p on Xbox Series S, both with checkerboarding and unlocked framerates (capped to 60fps). All consoles deliver the same general image quality.
Ray-Tracing OFF
With ray-tracing off, all consoles hit 60fps pretty much all the time.
Ray-Tracing ON
The game's ray-tracing implementation has been optimized from when it was last used in Devil May Cry. The performance hit is a lot less. RT reflections are at 1/4 resolution. It still makes the game look noticeably better.
With ray-tracing on, PS5 and Xbox Series X hit 60fps a lot of the time, but they dip significantly under stress, with PS5 dipping harder than Xbox Series X. VRR basically makes the dips unnoticeable on Xbox Series X. Xbox Series S hits 30fps, but struggles to maintain that.
Game Loading
PS5 eliminates all loading screens; loading a save just fades to black for a second or two. Xbox Series S/X still has loading screens, about 7-9 seconds to start the game or load a save.
Other
The game makes full use of the DualSense controller on PS5, with the adaptive triggers providing different effects for each weapon. On Xbox Series S/X, it uses the Impact Triggers and rumble as well, but obviously it isn't as good as the DualSense.
The game uses 3D audio and also supports traditional surround sound.
Capcom's HDR implementation is still kinda wonky (still no support for HGIG).
