I thought 1080p in 2020/2021 was bad?
I remember that huge thread about the Series S and people calling it useless....
Hopefully now we realize that framerate and image quality are far more important than resolution
Its still better to pump resolution once everything else is 60 fps than graphics sometimes a clearer image is wanted especially for non-graphic intensive games.
I LOVE 4k text on my monitor its one my fave things ever i like resolution i don't care if yuou dont
I love clean cut 4k text nothing will beat it for me. Its just so fun to see how smooth 4k is.
I disagree slightly.
While I agree the crispness of 4k/60 is amazing, I think most people would gladly sacrifice resolution for framerate and prettier graphics or better AI.
Lower resolution can be mitigated with checkerboarding, DLSS or even the FideltyFX/Nvidia Freestyle sharpening filters.
I have a 3090 so most games I can play at 4k/60 but on those I cant, i max out settings and drop to 1800p. Valhalla and WD Legion are examples (Thanks Ubisoft).
Native 4K is a waste of resources, even 1080p on a 4k TV is ok for most people since most streaming content is 1080 anyway.
Luckily Series S and X support AMDs new Super Resolution (DLSS) so they can save on resources
