@charizard1605: Heh same here. I haven't played it because of the backlash and I wasn't interested in it and Diablo in general.
Does anyone recommend buying this game? and why?
If you like mindless repetition, go for it!

do you like ARPGs?
I do. but Diablo 3 looks like League of legends on a controller.

oh, if you're asking about the console version, i have no idea.

It doesn't look like something I would enjoy. I prefer games like Dtagon's Dogma and Souls. while those are repetitive i still had fun.
I think I'll pass on Diablo 3 again and wait for Diable 4 in 10 years and see what they have to show. :P
@lostrib: yeah i think i'll pass. thanks for the help guys.

If you play and enjoy isometric ARPG's then you will probably enjoy Diablo 3, they've fixed most of the worst issues about it and it's reasonably entertaining.
If it's your first outing into isometric ARPG though I don't think I'd recommend it, you should try other, much cheaper titles first like Torchlight 2 or Path of Exile.
I would say 30 million suckers, but ugh I actually bought that piece of shit too.
God what a boring ass genre. Fucking hermits gassed this series up and it has nothing to do with "depth" or actually being good at the game, which you would expect given the elitism, shit is fucking interactive labor. Go do bitch work for a bunch of hours and then eventually you'll get an item that upgrades you from bitch to mega-bitch.
Very much agree
I bought into the hype. Hermits couldnt stfu about this series so I was like "lets see whats so special about this". In the end I was left with the feeling "Was this shit hermits hyped for so long?". It required literally no skill. Its just grinding through some very boring dungeans, killing the same enemies over and over again and picking up loot that looked the same most of the times, only some minor color changes. What a lame ass game and lame ass genre
Proof that hermits hype everything thats not on consoles (Diablo 3 wasnt on consoles at the time) and use most consolites ignorance on some series to brand it "hardcore". Diablo had nothing of hardcore
Diablo3 only gets hard in the end game. Most people couldnt do Inferno or later on high MP levels. Currently GR is very competitive and difficult.
Either way, it's better than the sorry console attempt known as Destiny that console kids hyped for years. Oh lord.
It's a very fun game, though I only play it in couch co-op while wrecked on whiskey. I actually think someone made sure it was playable in those circumstances, for instance loot has a shitton of complex stats, but is summarised with a few big arrows that are either red or green. Drunk me understands to just throw on green stuff without caring too much about the details :P
It does seem to lack the challenge of Diablo 2 though, that game was hard to solo on Hell mode. Well, depended very much on character and style of play, not to mention luck with drops, but it wasn't as mindless and easy as D3.

Diablo3 is not easy if you play competive and try climb ladder. Try get top 10 on greater rifts ladder.....
I finished the game after the first month it got released, having pretty much done anything to explore. Its a meh game at best, though its pretty fun to play in co-op.
If you buy diablo3 for story and to explore all places once you doing it wrong. Diablo is all about grind better gear/weapons to do the same thing in higher difficulty and enjoy that "random" item drops. It feel great to get that rare item you been waiting for, and even better if you get good stats on it.
Play it on PC for best experience tho
It's definitely a solid game. I have played it a lot more since the launch of RoS.
I think I'm around Paragon Level 450 or so but I still really enjoy the Greater Rifts. It's been around a month but I think I'm soloing GRs around lvl 42-44, which are a solid challenge. Since the GRs are totally randomized, they widely vary in difficulty even if they are the same lvl based upon what mobs you are fighting.
I've got a wizard, barb and sader, but I enjoy the wizard the most.
sounds like a casual click fest
The highest GR clears require team speak and ridiculous reflexes.
True still not as skillfull as other genres, it's still a gear based ARPG. But not as bad as shit like Destiny.
Depending on what randomized mob selection you get, very high GRs can be effectively impossible for certain team comps. Basic mobs will one-shot most squishy classes and you simply can't kite some mob types effectively. I'm looking at you assassins.
Diablo 3 is the posterchild that games can become extremely good if a dev continues to support it.. Diablo 3 at it's release years back had immense problems and a large portion of hostile community.. With extremely questionable practices (such as a RMAH, though I personally didn't care about that, since D2 basically had that with third party sites).. They completely turned this around and listened to their community, in making a far superior game to what it was at release.. Hell Blizzard really pioneered the developer ideal of supporting products years down the road.. We saw this with both StarCraft 1 and Diablo 2 in which outside of expansions they released patches years down the road that fundamentally changed the game and shook it up with new content and immense mechanical changes.. Up until that point (and years afterwards) it was standard for the dev to release the game, make a few minor patches.. Then move on.. Many devs seem have taken the hint with Blizzards success in that their success has a lot to do with post release support.. Even Diablo 2 had huge problems at release with mechanical problems, absolutely awful balance problems etc etc..
So it's great to see Diablo 3 make the top 10 list of best selling games of all time because hopefully it will set the precedent that a games development doesn't end after it's released and paid DLC.. But continued support through content patches that will keep the person playing the game for years. Now only 14 days away, Diablo 3's Season 4 is not only going to start, but they are releasing their content patch 2.3 which offers tons of changes and new content for free.
Biggest disappointment of the last decade gets more sales on name alone.
Quite disheartening.
I hear it's more fun on consoles though.
Legit question. How does Diablo III compare to the likes of Torchlight II?
Much better at the moment. It's always getting updates with much more bigger/active community which isn't as segmented as TL2's with mods and hacks.
Great! I'll probably pick it up when I finish my master race machine. Thanks!
