Yah, Sony is building out and ramping up PSN pretty strong. I think they really want to twist Microsoft's Arm and play Mercy with them on the PSN/XBL front.Great, it took the 360 6 months to do it, and when it happened, I was happy.
Good that Sony's trying to catch up, they only have so much time!

Good News for Playstation 3 / PSN fans. Background Downloading will be possible while on PSN and playing a game. Starting with SingStar. So the capability is there =)I'm not sure I understand this exactly. Why is background downloading game specific? Otherwise, what was your point in mentioning SingStar?
XBL What?
PSN is looking even sexier now, and its Free.

IT took over +6 months for the 360 to do that...It's not like the 360 hasn't had over 2 dozen updates.

well it's clearly easy to follow than it is to lead  yes, but they are doing a fantastic job in that area....it sounds like it will only be resticed to certain games, also, its on a seperate internet service seperate from PSN in which, it will be up to the developer to decide if they even have their own seperate service. im glad to hear it, im used to how XBL does, and when i download off of PSN, i have to find something else to do besides playing my PS3. but as of now, it sounds all to clunky if this is how it ends up. merek16_basicYeah that's what I'm worried about. It sounds as if Background downloading is only going to work with SingStar. Which kind of leads to the question of, "How many people will actually use this feature." If it was across the entire network and every game allowed for background downloading then I'd give Sony a big thumbs up. But until more information is given, this isn't very news worthy.

Exactly, Xbots act like PS3 will never be able to download in the background  XBL is looking expensive by the day.PSN > XBL. Comparable service yet FREE. nanomecha4So i guess the Bejeweled Demo > World of Warcraft. Nice.

Singstar has not been released, and this wont be possible with all games. It will be a feature that will be incorporated depending on the game. If the game doesnt use too much the processor then you will be able to download in the background.XBL Marketplace is free and the background Downloading works with all games /thread[QUOTE="bobby_king"][QUOTE="nanomecha4"]Good News for Playstation 3 / PSN fans. While PSN will certainly get better over time, you can't possibly believe your own BS do you? If so, I fear for the future...

I think they really want to twist Microsoft's Arm and play Mercy with them on the PSN/XBL front.im all for PSN, but even though they ar eimproving it, thye gotta have some good games first to back it up. have you noticed that some developers dont have online for PS3 versions of their games? games liek resistance are different because the deveoper pretty much built their own dedicated servers for th egame, but PSN doesnt require that all new games are online. Thats why XBOX live is still bteer, it requires all new games to have soem kind of online function, xbox live is a more closed, secure network, but PSN might catch up.Great, it took the 360 6 months to do it, and when it happened, I was happy.

NO. /CAPS Seriously, I like ps3 and all.... but live is the most user-friendly quality internet you can get on any console by far.
But PSN does have the potential to match and even surpass. But let's see if they do it, considering it's free.

When SONY gamers start caring about that stuff in about Never...those will be important. As it is the quality of PSN surpasses XBL, you cant find an experience like R:FOM on XBL.
