[QUOTE="xYamatox"][QUOTE="millerlight89"] Have you ONLY played the BC series?Funconsole
Yup. Only played Bad Company. It's still a Battfield game, and DICE's current piece of work. I'm not one to care about past successes, either. BF2 could have been the most amazing game of it's time upon release, but if the devs stay stuck in the past and don't evlove with the times, they may no longer be "great" devs anymore.
Now, I won't say this is the case for DICE, but I will say that their current jab at FPS in this day and age left me a little underwhelmed after all hype and praise they got when Bad Company (mostly BC2) was announced.
Ironic coming from the guy who's most recently played game was MW2 :| Care to explain why it was underwhelming?Last game played since I had Xbox live (had a party, and everyone wanted to use their XBL gamertags/loadouts in splitscreen).
As for the things that underwhelmed in BC2:
- Marksmen cl@ss has little drawback to him, and too many players flock to this class when others are needed.
- Engineer must face tanks/Choppers head on, needs to fire off multiple rockets to kill them (tanks at least), but can get facerolled in a single hit from almost all vehicles...
- Weapon balance is simply bad. There are a good number of weapons that are rendered completely useless when compared to others (more so then most FPS games).
- Lower ranked players are at a HUGE disadvantage when higher ranks are running around with higher bullet DMG, Armor, etc.
- While some vehicles have a decent learning curve, someone who has half a brian and literally spawn-camp a team at base, killing threatening Engineers only seconds after they spawn. Once it's FINALLY taken down, a new chopper is spawned only moments later.
- Do I have to mention the poor single player? I know most FPS games aren't geared to Single Player these days, but this literally felt tacked on.
- Fully destructable buildings are cool, but when every building looks almost the same, it makes the maps look rather bland.
- "Free DLC Multiplayer Maps" that were on the disk the whole time...
I'm sure there are other things I can't recall at the moment. With that said, I don't think BC2 is a bad game by any means (I even said ealier I thought it was good), but not anywhere near the quality people treat it. It does a lot of the crummy things that CoD get's hated for, just in a slightly different way.
