I think they are trying to get PC gamers to actually buy their game, and not just pirate it. Dont think they are concern about console gamers as they buy anything thats a FPS.... just look at MOH :P

people will prirate anything, even PS3 games when the PS3 was not even hacked yet :P But yeah BF3 does actually have a single player campaign, and its the only footge we have seen so far for some reason :x

regardless of some peoples' weirdness, DICE doesn't have a problem getting PC gamers to buy (and continue buying for years) their game.

It's funny because BC2 was the other way around, as they shown tons of MP footage and single player like a month or 2 before release.[QUOTE="GTSaiyanjin2"][QUOTE="Firebird-5"]

I'm sure having a little more sales is not going to hurt them.... I'm sure DICE wants their game to sell even more than the last.
Sorry, but I disagree. Just because ATI is cheap bastards don't give then right to whine when others aren't. They've been charing insane prices for high end cards without giving anything back. They're bassicaly exploiting devs's hard work without giving anything back. At least Nvidia throws cash around helping devs, ATI doesn't.ATI has had a better price to performance ratio over the past few years. How is ati exploiting devs?Simple, they expect them to provide reasons to buy their cards without giving them anything in return. And then they have the nerve to say DirectX is holding pc graphics back and devs want it out, which was such ridiculous lie that they immedietely had to backtrack from it.[QUOTE="AdrianWerner"]
[QUOTE="Cranler"]
alot of devs are simply lazy. these so called physx effects have been in games as far back as 2003. why should ati pay off devs to do what could be done on the cpu? surely dice signed an agreement with nvidia to notdo the same with ati.
Cranler
Really? Warhammer is and has always been a tabletop miniature wargame. All computer software, be it WAR or Blood Bowl is a spin off.Dice is just gassing it's PC fanbase trying to ease the pain that will be inflicted once B3 is released and it's once loyal PC fanbase realizes that it's beloved once PC exclusive francise has been consolized. Look at COD series, Crysis series, look at warhammer series(once an RTS is now a TPS and is releasing simultaneously on all platforms). It's going to happen with every PC exclusive eventually because the console fanbase will obviously bring devs more $, which is needed to compensate the high cost in making and marketing a game.

It's not as if consoles are capable of what they're trying to accomplish on PC. it'll be a waste of money compared to if they did consolize for the hur durr cod audience. yes, i applaud them for actually doing something right and sticking to their principles, but the reality is that it simply isn't the best business decision that they could be making.

DICE should remember their roots MP first.

And then they have the nerve to say DirectX is holding pc graphics back and devs want it out, which was such ridiculous lie that they immedietely had to backtrack from it. It doesnt work that way. Nvidia has to PAY developers to use Physx. AMD doesnt have to give devs money to get them to develop for AMD cards because if they dont develop for them then they cut off a large part of the community and lose a ton of money. Just because Nvidia seems to throw money at every game to get their logo on the startup (same with Intel) doesnt mean that they support devs more than AMD.[QUOTE="Cranler"]

You have to wait until E3 for that unless MP screens/videos get leaked 1st.[QUOTE="AdrianWerner"]Simple, they expect them to provide reasons to buy their cards without giving them anything in return. If they want to maximize profits then they should focus on consoles. But profits aren't their main goal with BF3. They are just doing what they want.dc337
1 million lemmings pirated black ops also, your case is weak.

online focused games are usually advantage pc, piracy becomes less a factor on pc while rentals, piracy and used sales plague consoles. Call of duty is an exception, it seems almost every console gamer in existance buys it every year though.
Hmm Im playing a pc game right now? I aint a fanboy of a system I am a person who thinks with logic...[QUOTE="fueled-system"]
[QUOTE="Kinthalis"]
You feeling alittle butt-hurt, console fanboy?
So sad for you.
Kinthalis
Dont assume things next time.
You might want to try and use that "logic" of yours to see why your original statement is completely inaccurate.
Lol @ completely inaccurate. Unless you include awful Facebook and other social games, the average person has no interest in PC gaming. Unlike consoles which have many more players on them.
I'm sure a lot of developers would love to do that, but that is simply not the case, it's not financially viable. Remember EA is the punlisher; Patrick Bach is just saying the usual PR BS to make certain sections of the fanbase feel happy. Whilst it's nice to hear, I am sure they will take the same route as BFBC and BFBC2, nothing special. Soon someone will say 360 and PS3 version will look very good, near identical or as good as PC, etc etc, something along those lines.just makes a game for the sake of gaming.
edidili
Ok? It's not exactly a startling statement. DICE loves shiny technically impressive games, it's obvious then that they would prefer the PC. In other earth shaking revelations, the grass is green. I don't own any DICE games, find their current games lacking, and am not interested in their future endeavors either, but I'm glad they're enjoying their shiny graphics so much. To each their own.RandoIph
I don't think technically impressive is only about the shiny graphics. What about more players count, better animations, destruction and larger maps? These are hardly gimmicks.

Talking about how sad the consoles are and saying that PCs are the future (if he thought both were the future, then he wouldnt just say the PC). This type of garbage is hermit material, not anything I should expect from a developer.He just said that consoles cannot handle what Dice can deliver in 2011. If I say that PS2 can't handle crysis am I bashing PS2 or am I just saying the obvious truth?
