I know I did.
Quite honestly, what made Halo 2 so disappointing in my eyes was that the game failed to live up to any of the expectations that Bungie themselves set. Anyone remember that 14 minute gameplay video? Pretty amazing stuff that was, it made me jump for joy. Not only was the level not in Halo 2, but nothing that even resembled anything in that 14 minute demo appeared in the game.
It seemed like Bungie was slapped in the face with a "Oh crap, we gotta get this game out" fish, and decided to scrap a lot of what could have been.
But I like to think that's true for the sake of Bungie's credibility, because if it isn't true then I seriously doubt their ability.
Sans the Arbiter sections, I felt bored through out. The Covenant sections were interesting, and made the game interesting. I very much enjoyed fighting a long side an enemy I once would have killed. I loved seeing their side of the story, but going back to MC's side was something I dreaded doing. This was because I knew I'd be going back to fighting on another Halo. I didn't want to be there, I wanted to be on Earth.
Then there was the Shakespeare spouting Little Shop of Horror rip off.
I nearly turned off the game at that point, if it wasn't for Keith David as the Arbiter.
