Did anyone really consider PH & ST as true Zelda games?

I don't agree with you,the Temple of theb Ocean King wasn't amazing, but it was ok.

GreekGameManiac

At the very least, I thought the Zelda mechanic in Spirit Tracks made those recurring dungeon parts a lot more interesting.

Both are fine Zelda games that I enjoyed a lot, but I can see why not all people may enjoy them .. I wish they would make WW 2 though:oops:

pretty much what I was going to say.

PH was weak as hell. ST was an improvement but the clunky train travel prevented it from being up to par with other handheld zeldas.

According to others it is rather low on exploration and sidequest stuff. If this is true, I cannot imagine liking it more than SS. Though both seem to shar the same issue.

Phantom Hourglass, definitely. Spirit Tracks doesn't exist as far as I am concerned.

Yeah there's virtually no exploration in Spirit Tracks. But it's better than Phantom Hourglass's overworld in a way, because you spend more time in dungeons and towns and less time trying to explore a world that's not worth exploring.

Minish Cap is so much better than PH and ST it's not even funny. Literally, it's not, Zelda is my favorite franchise of all time, and I almost consider just throwing ST in there with the Cdi games and just pretending it doesn't count.

Minish Cap...I just don't know about that game.

It was well-made and all and I can't recall any major flaws with the game, it is a good game by all means that I did enjoy, yet that game just didn't pull me in like other Zelda games and just isn't as memorable for me.

Link's Awakening and the Oracle games are still my favorite handheld Zelda titles.

I think it's my nostalgia but I thing Seasons is better. I still Like Minish better than Awakening and Ages though.

Seasons > Ages, definitely.

Outside of that I don't how I'd compare LA to the Oracle games. I don't if I'd put LA above the Oracle games or below, or maybe if it is better than one but worse than the other. I've played both LA and the Oracle games so many times and enjoyed all that I really find it hard which I find better.

Still the best Zelda hand helds are Oracle of Ages and Seasons.

ShadowMoses900
Agreed. Although I think Spirit Tracks and Phantom Hourglass were good; they were a cakewalk compared to Oracle of Ages/Seasons.

Only Zelda I don't consider a "true Zelda" is the CDi sh*ts. And it should be so universally.

The only Zelda's that are not true Zelda games are the 3 for the CDi, and that's solely due to Nintendo having no involvement in their creation.

Even Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland is a true Zelda game.

I absolutely loved them. In fact I am more certain that I would pick up another 2D Zelda than a 3D one.
