Did DICE just take the Graphics Crown away from Crytek?

PC's WASD icon at 1:53. :) Finally a developer who is not afraid to show PC footage as their primary instead of hiding behind the crappier console version. Never figured out what the hell Crytek was smoking with all these 360 footage they were showing initially for Crysis 2. But whatever they were smoking it was quite strong. I mean why the hell would you be showing a crappier version instead of your best version when you are demonstrating your product? Would you show your friends your used Toyota Corrola or your Lamborghini if owned one?

It's seems like Crytek went from selling exotic cars like Ferraris and Lamborghini to a used car dealer peddling crappier used cars instead of top of the line Ferraris and Lamborghinis. While DICE is the "new" dealer in town for Lamborghinis and Ferraris.

No doubt, although I want to see some MP footage.

I really wanna see how the engine can handle 64 players in a big map, destruction and vehicles.

I'd like to see more variety in the environments first.tomarlyn

Crysis and BF3 look about the same in screen caps. But in motion BF3 just looks far more organic. The animation are what make BF3 the better looking game imo.i5750at4Ghz

Damn those graphics sure are AMAZING. One of the best on PC. Will it beat Crysis/ Metro 2033? Probably not :P

But we can hope the game actually turns out like that..

Metro didn't fail. It just didn't support mods. Stock it does beat Crysis but the community is still split on that.

The video wasn't the greatest quality. It looks just as good as the gifs if not better. The GIFs and video were real time. If they were CGI then DICE is really bad at CGI.

Dice didn't just take the graphics crown from Crysis. They f'ing sparta kicked Nomad off the throne.

That WAS campaign. They have co-op campaign and MP. MP is obviously the reason to buy it though and always has been.

Well you'll have to wait a long time because DX11 isn't included with Crysis 2's launch. Crytek failed PC gamers and was forced to please the console market.

CoD gamers will eat just about anything though so it might sell well. I'd like it to sell worse than Crysis and Warhead did but that'd be bad for Crytek. I'd like them to make Crysis 3 and pay attention to PC this time.

FYI the single player is fantastic.

So far I believe they have. I also believe BF3 is the second DX11 native PC game... crysis 2 isn't even DX11 native.

Isn't the game a corridor shooter now? That is the impression i get.

Not to mention the graphics (in the demo) have a very "console" feel; not sharp and precise like a PC.

And what is wrong with expecting Crytek to raise the graphical bar once again like they did with Crysis 1. There has been at least 3 generations of GPUs that have come out since 2007 when Crysis was released. Not to mention most people have even more RAM typically 4GB. So, why not take FULL ADVANTAGE of these two to make a game that is mindblowing like Crysis 1 was? This is why PC gamers feel let down. The bar hasn't been raised like Crysis 1 did.
