Did Fallout: New Vegas set a record for largest hype deflation?

Honestly, at the beginning of 2010, this game was the one everyone was looking forward to. IGN had it as their most looked forward to game of 2010. The hype was huge. But I think the announcement of LBP2 and GT5, Halo: Reach, and the hype for Killzone 3 and Gears of War 3 has made New Vegas a forgotten game.

It's only a month away, yet there have been basically zero threads about this game in the past few months. I certainly won't be getting it, but my mind is boggled by how little people are talking about this potential GOTY Contender.

It's not an exclusive game so people don't talk about it as much. I already bought my CE for it last week

I'm sure they are somewhere, but definitely not in SW. This was one of the largest games of the year, and yet less than a month away, there's absolutely no topics or hype thread about it.

Fallout: New Vegas and Gran Turismo 5 are two of the most anticipated games for me this year.

Normally I would have been far more interested in it, but I have no experience with the developers behind it, so I don't know what to expect in terms of quality.

I was excited for it, but it got buried under my personal hype for LOS and LBP2.

It's probably because we all know what to expect from the game, so there's little reason to post threads like "what do you think New Vegas will look like?".

I don't know what you're talking about. I didn't get hyped until a couple months ago when they started releasing info and I realized it's the real Fallout 3. It will definitely have 100+ hours of gameplay, more than I can say for any game this year.

a game like fall out new vegas doesn't need hype...we know it will be awesome just like fall out 3 was.

When I played Fallout 3, it dominated my free time for over 2 months. I expect nothing less from New Vegas, and for that reason it is my most anticipated game of this half of 2010.

If people aren't excited it's their loss... but it's gonna be one helluva game.

Exactly what this dude said.. Obsidian is awesome, loved KOTOR2, loved Alpha Protocol.. this new Fallout should be pretty funa nd better then Fallout3 me thinks.

Honestly I was never interested in New Vegas.

I´m interested in it,but since it´s a multiplat don´t expect the hype around here to be relevant.

They didn't do a good job of hyping it as a stand alone game. To be honest, i thought it was just another expansion pack until maybe 3 days ago.

I don't think we've even talked about the game for a long while...

Sounds about right, all the companions have already been revealed and it still has more then a month until release.

RAGE mightve had something to do with this.

Nope. DmC set that record. The second they revealed the new Dante the hype went negative 9000.

I'll eventually play it, but this Fall is one jumbled mess of new games coming out. If I had an unlimited supply of money this might be a different story, but there are other priorities.
