I just watched the new IGN movie for a third time and I was greatly impressed at first with the visual intro, but then I realized that was CG. Once the gameplay came out (with the hud etc.) I saw a blurry, low frame rate, Dynasty Warriors with the player riding a dragon. While I was slightly impressed with the 'in air dragon fighting engine,' the rest of the game didn't quite phaze me. I dunno know.
[QUOTE="ShakeNBake1491"]The PS3 is limitless :ophatkav
That made me laugh. Â
With sloppy coding, sure, the PS3's limits can be reached. The trick back in the olden days of console gaming, it was easy to reach the limit of the hardware's capabilities. The trick always was how to work around that limit to make a game good visually.Â
So has the limit been reached? Probably not. More can most likely be worked out. However, unlike the old days, getting more out of hardware isn't about time and creativity now, it's more about how much money you can pump into making a game look pretty.
Lair looks like boring repetitive garbage, it's not a game that makes me think about getting a Ps3 just for the hell of it.Fruity_FantasyAnd what? Halo isn't?
no it has not only wii can devs reatch its limits . however ps3 does has more power then even 360 . i know i am going to be bashed for saying it but its true . the cell is 3 times more powerful . blu ray holds 41gbs more data then 360s discs . 512 ram and faster ram then 360 256mb cpu 256 gpu .deadmeat59
Blu Ray discs are still single layer n00b, they only store 25 GB's, dual layer is 50, Sony hasnt even released those onto market yet since single layer discs are just getting started.

 lmao hell no the PS3 isn't close to it's limit there's still Killzone, MGS, FF, GT5 and more games that will push it like the next Ico project and GoW III. And 360 can't run Lair, unless the 360 can render over 2,000 enemies plus dragons in 1080p and the graphical scale of LAIR and the huge environments of 32x32 kilometers and progressive mesh which I don't see and don't even talk about GeOW comparing to LAIR they're both good games and graphically impressive and LAIR is in Alpha build too so it will look even better.

Kojima is using the dual layer 50GB for MGS4, so QFTÂ

This is not the limit at all.Â
yeah, a lot of ppl said that FFX was the limit of the PS2.
But then MGS3 came... and ppl said the same things again.
and then God of War came... and ppl said it again.
and Shadow of the Colossus...bla bla bla
and God of War 2...
you got the picture right? ;)Â

the 360 could run lair with the same graphics but not with the same amount of people or dragons on screen at once since the 360 cpu is weaker than the cell.papageorgio22
Progressive mesh, 23x23 kilometers, 25,000 soldiers, fluid dynamics, and "so physics and so many animations."Â All at 1080p with 7.1 at 30 FPS.
That's why you'll never see it on the 360. With the same graphics? Do soldiers, AI, physics, animations, fluid dynamics, progressive mesh, and map size compose graphics? Lol.Â

wasnt it 32x32 km? ;)Â
You saying Lair is the PS3's limit is like me saying Gears is the 360's. It's stupid.Ibacai
Yeah, except Eggebrecht said that the PS3 was limitless, while Epic Games asked Microsoft to increase the 360's RAM from 256 to 512 to run the game.
I think that's suggestive that the PS3 has a farther horizon than the 360 does by far.Â

I can see the X360 able to handle it, just remove all the unnecessary processing like graphics that are out of view and reduced detail for distant objects because you can't see that detail.

If you'd have to remove all the detail and draw distance to make it work, than the 360 can't run it. That's like saying: "Oh the Wii could handle it, you'd just have to remove all the dragons and fire and stuff."
Uh, has 360 reached it's limit with Oblivion and GeoW?
Doubt it, and it's been out for well over a year now.
The PS3 hasn't even been out for half a year and it's already doing incredibly well. Oblivion runs very smoothly on it, much less lag than the 360 and the loading times are much faster.
Â
Look at Lair, the game looks amazing and this is basically just the tip of the iceberg. There's much more that it can do in the future.
