It has been incredible. By far the best first year for a system that I can think of!
Yes definitely! That was one heck of a first year.
He's just hoping to find people who agree that it's bad because he wants it to do poorly going forward. If it doesn't start doing poorly soon though, he'll have to punish himself next year by buying one once it crosses the 35 million sold mark.
Who are you talking about?
I quoted the wrong person but I meant the OP

It's delivered plenty for me. I'm still playing Fire Emblem Warriors DLC. Still need to get on the Zelda DLC. Over 300 hours each in Zelda and FEW. Haven't had time to start Odyssey yet. Spent a good amount of time on Splatoon 2 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Haven't had time to start Doom. I'd like to get Skyrim and Wolfenstein once I finish some of these other games. I just built a new PC, so I've been trying to focus on catching up on some of those games now, so between PC and Switch, I'm in gaming paradise basically :) I can't fathom why I'd ever get any games on Xbox or PS.
Nintendo Switch did exactly what I expected, to play top notch exclusive games! It deliver what I ask and now, it's kinda taking a back seat. But still, I cannot say anything bad on this amazing none upgrade console and the Switch is what a called a true next-gen console.
So far, PC>PS4>Switch in this order. (Don't hate)
That's two AAAAEs, one AAAAE port, and one AAAE. and one AAAE port I'd say that's pretty damn good value (probably the best first year in gaming history). I still find PC gaming a lot more fun, but there is no shortage of games on the Switch. It's my backup console, and it serves its purpose well.
Good lord, learn what the E stands for already.

All those games are exclusive to nintendo consoles.
yea first year was fine.
i still have 2 or 3 games i need to finish.
la noire, yookah laylee, and steamworld dig 2
but kirby comes out in 2 weeks and that will take priority. just beat bayonetta 2 last week.

Ease up on the assumptions. I never said it had a bad year, so calm yourself. Why the hell would I want it to do poorly? I'm not that freaking petty over a video game console. I said a billion times that I would love Nintendo to prove me wrong this generation. I just wanted to hear from people who own the Switch how they felt the first year went, simple as that.

The sentiment for the most part across the board has been overwhelmingly positive. A thread like this will more than likely just attract random nonsense and negativity, but this is system wars I guess. I've probably been spending too much time over at Reset, carry on.
New game plus just got updated for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 so I have that and Bayonetta 2, which I have never played before. So far 2018 has been solid. Also what about No More Heroes 3 as well. Details on Pokemon Switch game ????
Thinking about buying Zelda down the line as well if my backlog clears up. I'm not a Zelda fan though.
Great first year for the system, I own 12 games for it and there are several I don't own that are on my wishlist. I couldn't ask for a better year 1/

Neither am I, I have not really enjoyed zelda since the snes days, but I decided to take a chance on botw and fell in love with it.
yes, it's s supplemental gaming device and I mainly play it when out and about, for that purpose, it's serving its purpose
though, after LoZ and Mario Kart 8, I shelved it for a bit, broke it out again recently for Mario Odyssey and Bayonetta, and looking forward to Hyrule Warriors re-release, it's doing its job
maybe I'll try that Splatoon 2 out or Arms later if I feel I ever need something new to play
I don't really care about the third party multiplats myself, I got proper consoles for those, though a few I wouldn't mind trying like Doom maybe when on sale, have it on XB1 but might be willing to get this version for its portability
Yes they have most definitely delivered enough games for me this year. I currently have:
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
- Super Mario Odyssey
- Xenoblade Chronicles 2
- Bayonetta 1 & 2
Games that I need to get that are currently out are:
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Pokken Tournament DX
- Fire Emblem Heroes
- Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle
THIS!! A very good year :)
It was a bad year filled with ports.
Mario Odysessy was not that good.
So Launched in March with nothing but ports. Game drought until October when Mario came out which is overrated. Game drought until this march so far with basically more ports coming for the rest of 2018.
I don't know what fantasy world people live in where they thought the switch had a good year. It was bad.
