Far Cry 2.

Halo 3 for the time i was playing SP, when i started playing MP, then not so much.

GTA4 and Red Dead Redemption. I actually rented RDR first to see if I'd like it after I wasted my money on GTA4. It seemed great during the rental period, but after I bought it I realized that the rest of the game felt really repetitive. At least I waited for a price drop so I wasn't out a full $60.

I regretted buying Assassin's Creed. Besides the quality of many of the game aspects (like visuals and controls and the environments), the core game is just pain bad IMO. I felt sickening amounts of deja vu during the game and I thought the objectives were so lame. **** game design is still **** game design even if it is packaged in an awesome environment.

I also regretted buying Klanoa for the Wii (a boring platformer with boring mechanics and level design), but I returned that one, so I didn't regret it for long.

Far Cry 2 just screams at me when I hear the word regret

I recommend doing so.
The game gets better near the end. Despite the avarage story and somewhat decent dialogue, the game's biggest strength is the battle system. I found it to be very addictive, especially during the post-ending. It puts more enphasis on strategy over grinding, which is something I've been yearning for so long in RPGs.
The equipment system was crap though. Getting the ultimate weapons is pointlessly time-consuming IMO.

Back on topic: Sonic 06 for me.... yeah.... I actually bought this ****... at full price no less.

IDK, I don't see it is as really that worth it to trek toward the end of FFXIII because I think the story starts to really deteriorate around the Grand Pulse section of the game and it really never recovers.

I did think the battle system was very awesome though.

Go ahead, lynch me for hating this game as a roleplaying game, a first person shooter, as a game in its own right and as a sequel to Deus Ex.

Assassin's Creed. Not a bad game or anything, certainly good quality. But I never got into it. And god knows I've tried.

Mirrors Edge and Dark Void. Both had some great potential

I actually monitor my buys heavily as I never seem to have any disposable income. So I don't get too many regrettable purchases. The big ones that come to mind are:

• Modern Warfare 2
• Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (I bought it shortly before 2 came out and then played 2...)
• Black
• Fallout Tactics
• Dragon Age: Origins on console
• Saints Row 2

A little off topic but for everyone listing Assassin's Creed I hope that didn't stop you from trying 2, mind-blowing how much better that game is compared to 1.

Civ Rev and R6V2 spring to mind. Honorable mention to Brutal Legand in that I only paid $20 for it, but I've yet to unwrap it in almost 2 years... so that's gotta be a waste, even if the game rules... :P

Red Dead Redemption. Not worth the $100 I paid for it, at least it taught me a lesson about not listening to the hype.

Many times. You can't win em all. I try my best to research and read reviews/watch video, but sometimes stuff that looks great just doesn't play great for you or doesn't appeal to you. Star Ocean 4, Cross Edge, and Hyperdimension Neptunia are my biggest regrets. Pretty garbage games right there.

I don't regret many purchases. Even games I don't really play. I know I will go back to them at some point down the road. But the games I REALLY regret buying are...


Demon's Souls, I absolutely hate this game.

Valkyria Chronicles, not into those types of games.

UFC 2010, felt worse than UFC 2009.

Heavy Rain, was pretty good first time through but I don't picture myself going through it again.


I got Demon's Souls and Valkyria Chronicles because soo many people on Gamespot praise those two. Teaches me to listen to anybody on here again. Still don't get the severe love for RPG, JRPG, MMO's, and anything else even sort of like them.

Metroid Other M it was nothing when compared to Prime. Also Marvel vs Capcom 3 I waited ages just for this.

Gran Turismo 5 also it was delayed and delayed and we expected some amazing but we got the basic rehash with loads of cars and boring races. The AI sucked as well.

Ico. I loved Shadow of the Colossus, but could never get into Ico. I've given it three chances, might finish it eventually but I doubt it.

Red Steel (I regretted buying it I hated it so much) But then I also regretted selling it because even though I hated it when I sold it I knew I would never play it again.

Although I only played it once and that was for 45 minutes.
