Did you get the code for Gears franchise on X1? Thoughts?

I'm downloading Gears of War 2 now. Can't wait to see how it is. I recently finished the remaster of the original and truly loved it. I hope these BC titles are good! Anyone get to try them yet?

The first Gears of War game doesn't seem to have held up as well over time, and Gears 2 was poorer game design to begin with. Gears 3, however, holds up really damn well, and I can say I am jealous of all those who are going to play through that for the first time.

I got all the codes. I'll probably play 3 again if anything.

I got them all yesterday. It's funny seeing them give away these ex-high-profile games like candy now. Once upon a time, these would have been worth over 200$ lol.

I actually bought the collection last weekend. I havent had a chance to play them though as im currently playing tomb raider. Ill probably give the series a spin after TR. It will be my first time playing a gears game.

I got free Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart 8 for the WiiU, and Super Mario 3D Land for free as well. None of these are irrelevant last gen games.

I suppose that might make up for their lack of GwG/PS+ service.

Why would I pay 10 dollars a month for GwG, and PS+ each to get games (which for the most part are terrible) that I will never own?

got mine yesterday, but didn't have time to play (well, I had time but I was waist deep in Rise of the Tomb Raider).. I do plan on starting Gears 2 today for a little bit though as I'm looking forward to eventually going thru all those game again, especially before Gears 4 releases..

You own the 360 games. Now they have BC so you can play them on your Xbox One.

You're right, I bought an Xbox One to play irrelevant last gen indie games that may, or may not be included in the BC list.

I don't need code, since I have them digitally they just appeared in my list of downloadables after the update, I think it´s great for myself since now my son can play them on-line with his profile ( he had to play them in my profile ) since now I can share my XBL membership, I downloaded the 4 of them and ..... GOW3 and Judgement don´t run so well, specially in the MP, there´s a certain degree of "studdering" ( can´t think of another word to describe it ) during action, GOW1 campaign runs well, the only problem is that there isn´t many people playing MP so it takes a while before you can find a match. GOW2 runs well but the MP is like the Sahara, there´s nobody there.

I haven't received my codes yet, but apparently I really don't need them anyway. When BC was activated on the 12th I found out that somehow I already have all the Gears games with the exception of Gears 2 there to be downloaded. Guess I've gotten them free with GWG.

I received a code for 1%2 which I already owned digitally on 360. This emulation is much better than 360's of Xbox. Games are smooth, look and play great so far. I better still get Gears 3 and Judgement. That was the deal.

I got the codes. I doubt I'll ever play these again though.

The ability to not take up more space and still play games I already own is never irrelevant. That argument is so stupid. Just because a person enjoys the value of BC doesn't mean that is the sole reason they bought the console.

This is really a basic reading-comprehension lesson, you are both confused, and rattled and as such have said things that are just as meaningless as the list of games on the BC catalog.

Try reading the post again, maybe you'll understand what it meant. Until then this is the only reply you're going to get as the person I was talking to was talking about subscription based games.

Does anyone know if I need to have Xbox Live Gold to get the Gears downloads for the other games? I am playing Gears Ultimate at the moment (and loving it) but I refuse to pay Microsoft for the use of my own internet which I pay for already so I don't want Gold. Not a problem if I need Gold I will just buy the other games they are quite cheap now. Thanks.

Further more, I said the argument of singling out one feature that a gamer may like, be it BC or another, and making it out as if that's not a valid reason to buy a console is stupid. Everyone has the freedom to assess value as they see fit.
