Some people are mentioning an OLED TV but I wouldn't get one for gaming due to the burn-in issues.
Same here.
Some retailer here offers 5 years warranty for OLED panel which is great news for me when we upgrade.
I've had a 4KHDR10(non OLED) since 2016 when I bought my PS4 Pro. Looking to eventually get an OLED, but no rush since I don't have a PS5 yet.

Burn in isn't going to happen on LG CX. Image retention may happen, but it will probably be temporary at worst.

Unless you are watching cable news all day... maybe you'll get some burn in then.
Hmm, I wasn't aware OLED had such a burn in issue. I have no interest in the 4K gimmicks, pushed mostly by the one console maker that just so happens to also sell TVs. After doing some frame rate tests and black frame insertion experimentation, it has me seeing the value in CRT for all kinds of gaming, essentially tripling your perceived frame rate at no additional cost to hardware performance. 22" flat CRTs with resolutions of 2048x1536 (essentially 2K/1440P) exist with better contrast ratios and deeper blacks than OLED, and the 86hz refresh rate would require a 240hz LCD to match for smoothness and lack of motion blur.
I got the 85" SONY X900H before getting my PS5 and I love it. The TV is a huge improvement over the 70" 1080p TV I had. The TV rocks 4K UHD/HDR, 120htz, HDMI 2.1, VRR is coming soon in an update, auto sense to display the best settings for any movie, show, or game, and several other large improvements. My family has loved it so far and I'm glad I got the larger model since I was going to get the 70" but found some deals that Best Buy price matched to make the 85 on sale just a little more than the 70 and I got a great deal on a bundle pack with a matching SONY soundbar for hundreds off of each. (Yeah, I know soundbars aren't as good as full surround but I use a headset most of the time I'm playing a game anyways)
@latech84:

Not sure if this is the Q70 you are referring to but it appears that the LG is quite a bit less money in the US.
LG
Samsung

I agree and I am planning to upgrade to the Sony A80j when its a bit cheaper and Sony finally patch in VRR support, hopefully. Been watching reviews the past few month and their tech been receiving universal praise.
Been putting it off for a while now but plan on an upgrade when I get a XSX.
XSX and a new TV is what I'm asking Santa, aka me lol for Christmas this year. :P
@howmakewood:
i did look at the samsung,but if im not mistaken it doesn’t have dolby vision….and it was more expensive at the time
yeah seems that it doesnt have dolby vision, but does support hdr10+, tho how much those do at that price segment is questionable, neither provides the contrast(esp the lg with IPS panel),black levels or peak brightness for good HDR
No but, I plan on upgrading in the next year or two.
It supports 4K HDR but, it's capped at 60Hz and doesn't have VRR, ALLM etc.
@SolidGame_basic: lol, well if I was embarrassed about it I wouldn't have posted it here. What's the point of me upgrading? I have a PS4, a Switch, and a bunch of older stuff. I'll buy one when this one stops cutting it or breaks
Ooo, I definitely recommend keeping the 1080p even when you upgrade, but that's just me. I still have my 1080p, and a CRT TV 😆
@howmakewood:
yea i was governed by my budget of £1500 for hdmi 2.1 tv-serious x and ps5 i have 2 of the 3 at a cost of £1150,it could have all gone on a decent oled or qled..but i’d sooner have an average HDR experience than explain to the missus where the holiday money’s had gone HaH

You might as well wait for microLED. OLED quality with no burn-in or retention.
