Digital Foundry: Rise of the Tomb Raider PS4 Pro vs PC 4K

Well, I'm starting to get a little skeptical...

I want to the PS4 version just to play it again. I had a great time with X1 version. Time to go for some easy trophies!

Not surprised about lack of AF, AA or low quality shadows as those are more or less a trademark for consoles, but why did they have to skimp out on the textures?

apparently the 1080p "performance" mode runs north of 45+ fps...

I honestly think it's the RAM. 8 GB is showing it's age here, especially since they only use 4.5-5.5 for games. Textures have to be dropped in this case. Sony is probably being a little too ambitious here.

I'm sure they are coming, but it would have been interesting to see the comparison with the regular PS4 version. It's sort of a given that it will look worse than PC on very high 4k, but what isn't immediately clearly is how big the difference will be from the PS4 version (what is that, 900p medium or so?)

hmmm which will i choose and i don't want to plug my tv into my PC as the response times are gonna be all over the place as well as all this other crap that PC can't handle

That could be, the recommended vram for very high to be 4gb + remember getting some stutters too to game maxing the 6gb I got running on very high 1440p

TC, you do know that RotTR on the PS4 Pro have 3 different settings right?

Some of you have unreasonable expectations. Its a patched copy of the PS4 version, not a Pro exclusive title.

They wont look as good as PC.............ever.

Devs would need to develop with Pro in mind from the beginning or have more time to patch in details.

Patching in details means a bigger download.

cant hit native 4k due to its mid-range GPU ( a $200 Rx 470 is a faster GPU )

cant reach a stable 60fps due to its s***y Cpu

Cant reach very high detail levels due to lack of memory

So what exactly is the purpose of this $400 marvel ? To upscale games to 4k ?

Scorpio will likely run at 4K with higher settings. Just... saying...

@adamosmaki: It can reach max detail but not at 4k. It will have to stay at 1080p for that.

So i saw the Digital Foundry video expecting the guy to vomit due to how bad the ps4 pro version looks based on all the comments here. But the guy was complimentary and pleased on how the ps4 pro looks LoL. What did I miss?
