Didn't see another topic about this. This is the one game I have been wanting to play since I purchased my PS3. I am a big fan of SRPG. The only downside I see from the review was the graphics. Besides that it is one of the best in the series. So pick it up if your a SRPG fan and not a total graphic wh0re!
I'm not really into the Disgaea series. The characters are so annoying, and the graphics are terrible. Disgaea would have worked better if it was on a handheld like the PSP. Even the DS is a great choice. IMO it should have got lower.
SRPGS are my favorite rpgs, but I don't think I'll pick this game up. Even though I know it will be awesome since I liked the past games, no moneys! Boooo.

They said English voice acting are top notch? Are they serious?:? I was watching the first 10 minutes english video, and my ears hurt after hearing the voice acting.

Yep, looks like we have some of the same dislikes in RPGs. I have one question though:
If you played Persona 3 FES or just Persona 3, how did you like it?
I feel like I'm in a weird alternate universe..... XBOX is the RPG King.... WHHHAAAATTTT!!!!?!?!?!?!
7.5 isn't bad.... but it's not as good as 8.5, and Infinite Undiscovery & Fable II are coming soon.... I hope they sell well, I'd like to see more RPG's for the 360
Anyway, I don't know why I'm talkin about the 360 in a Disgaea Review Topic..... grats to PS3 owners I guess who enjoy this game.

You can't be serious, D-V... Disgaea is a niche title that doesn't appeal to everyone, but the more hardcore SRPG fans (such as myself) will end up spending hundreds of hours on it. -_-
Wow, the RPG hate is strong today. You got the cows insulting the lemmings for playing games that're pretty much PS2 RPGs with 360 graphics. And then you got lemmings insulting cows for playing PS2 games...with PS2 graphics....on the PS3 console...oh wait. :|
But seriously, I'm very hyped for this game. This and MGS4 are the only things I'm interested in that's on the PS3 and it is such a shame I'll never get to play it. Sure, it's only got a 7.5 rating, but I love Disgaea's sense of humor and gameplay style, I spent hundreds of hours on Disgaea 1 and Disgaea 2 has only begun to wear out (admittedly, I bought it late), so for me, that 7.5 is more than enough to make me happy. Cows, enjoy your awesome SRPG.

That's another thing I hate about the series, the voices are the worst in any RPG. I can't stand them.

Wow I didn't realize until now that everybody on this board are obsessed with friggin numbers. This is a niche type game and a 7.5 isn't bad at all for a game like this. I love SRPG and there my favorite brand of game so I will enjoy this immensly. Just because you don't like these types of games doesn't mean they are horrible games.
One of my favorite games this gen is Fire Emblem RD and I believe this game will be right up there. Enjoy the bashing and have fun on system wars.
still a great game look at LO it got the same rating and it had nex gen graphics so i see this as an accomplishment. Plus its a very niche title not many people know about this game other then the rpg fanatics.
Disgea is one of the best SRPG series out there next to Final Fantasy Tactics *Not advanced!* It's incredibally Niche but review scores wont effect sales of this game, the people who buy these could care less if someone thought it deserved a 2 it's the traditional gameplay and quirks I have grown to love.

People should know by now that review scores of JRPGs or SRPGs shouldn't really be taken that seriously. The JRPG genre is one of the most underrated genre out in the market and fans know that. One of the best games this gen IMO is a JRPG on the 360 that scored 7.0 (Lost Odyssey). JRPG fans don't really care what the games scores as they already know the will enjoy them. Fanboys will have fun and call the game a flop, crap, useless etc etc and at the same time the fans will wonder mysteriously what the hell the fanboys are talking about.
