Actually after watching that gameplay footage here's what I think and I'm not going to comment on Dante's looks, because I'd prefer them to get gameplay right and not get caught up in that other crap lol.
They are trying to capture the gameplay of most japan hack n slash games and for whatever it counts for, it certainly looks better than Heavenly Sword. I mean I see moves in the trailer that I would see in Devil May Cry 4. Juggling enemies and continuing to pull them back towards you to continue combos.
BUT the game looks horrible though, graphically and animation wise compared to DMC4. It looks like it plays super sluggish and doesn't have the fast gameplay that DMC games usually have. I'm not sure how long they have till release date, but I hope till late next year.

Yea thats what I noticed to. When I started seeing him lauch people in the doing the slashes and grabs and even the shooting I felt like they are really trying to get the dmc feel down. I would like to see a gameplay walktrhough.
Capcom should have taken notes from Crystal Dynamics on how to do a reboot. If it wasn't for the fact that we were told who this is, never would have kown that's Dante.

how about saying an opinion on the gameplay. Im tired of hearing "i dont like how dante looks" complant its old. At least say you hate the gameplay. I mean something new dang.
I've already given my thoughts on it, but any oppurtunity to rip on this game is a good one:
First thing I noticed was the visuals (obviously). To put it nicely, they suck. Devil May Cry 4 from 2008 looks better, and runs at double the framerate.
Dante still looks like a tool. No change there.
Now, the combat. Slooooooooooooooooooow. So slow it hurts. And it just looks sterile. Clearly Ninja Theory is trying to ape the flashiness of the previous games, but they're terrible developers so of course they got it wrong. They're trying to make moves flashy rather than making the flashiness derive naturally from the execution of moves...there's probably a better way to phrase that. Previous Devil May Cry games were fun to play and looked fun to play. Right now, DmC is failing on both counts.

u do know the trailer itself was just using slow mo right?
....This game isn't a finished product so what is the point in judging the frame rate especially from a trailer that showed no actual game play?I've already given my thoughts on it, but any oppurtunity to rip on this game is a good one:

It was a trailer made using the in game engine. I will wait until I see how the game actually plays. That was clearly gameplay they were showing, just edited =S

Hmm. You can tell that they're trying to get the DMC feel to it--you can see it in the moves of the character. There's just something off though... I can't quite put my finger into it.
The filter isn't DMC that much I can tell you, it looks more colorful, but I somewhat like it. Texture work and models are not as good as DMC4 it seems. The animations don't look fluid enough... I don't know... there's something there that doesn't feel quite right. If they have enough development time, I could see this changing.
Last DMC I played was DMC4 on PC at 120-150 fps, people can argue you can't tell 60 to 120 fps, difference, but you can sure as hell tell difference between 30 and 60+.Frame rate looks like it 30 FPS.... That right there is just wrong for a DMC game.

Actually they can't in the context 99% of everyone are doing it in ;) Got a high end 120 Hz monitor? I suppose you might be able to tell a difference. Everyone else (as in everyone who ever argues this on sw) can't because their 60 Hz monitors frameskip anything above their refresh rate. Screen tearing is in it's essence skipped frames.

unless you ahve a high end monitor capable of 120 you probably noticed the v sync off and not the extra 60 fps
Horrible music, mundane look and something seriously wrong/off with the gameplay. No style to to his moves and the movement is wooden. Worst of all I got a DMC2 vibe from this, from a fans perspective it craps on everything DMC stands for, when you look at a DMC1 or DMC3 it stands out from the crowd and this game definitely doesn't stand out at all. Now from a business point of view, I don't know why Capcom partnered with Ninja Theory. Capcom games sell more, have a bigger audience and receive better critical reception, what do they think? They will make NT a better dev by working on DMC? The only thing that will happen is NT dragging the series down and losing money. Westernization is nothing but bastardization, this is the last time I will reply in a NT/DmC related thread, I wanted to see what they showed at E3 and it was exactly how I expected but worse; slow, dull and uninspiring, a Devil May Cry this definitely is not. Capcom... I am disappoint.
Back to defending with your hollow reasons, TC.Swift_Boss_A
Yup thier hollow cause I dont agree with you great point. Like I said im not on the hate wagon yet. It didint look terrible. I still need an actual gameplay walkthrough since trailers tend to try to be "cool" with slowing stuff down or using different angels and such. I want just a staright up demostration. There were a few parts that made me feel I was seeing a DMC game so im still not on that wagon. Again very mature response dude thumbs up.
Blah. Have they officially announced the DMC collection yet :P
IndianaPwns39
Wouldnt be shocked if its announced tommrow or the day after. How long E3 last again?

It goes until Thursday.
Awesome trailer.
Haters make me lol.

I agree. It seems people jumped on a Anti-DMC bandwagon since this game was first announced being made by Ninja Theory, and that there were going to be some changes. People made up their mind about the game long before any gameplay footage has been released.
I'm glad Ninja Theory are ignoreing a lot of the fan's cries. I'd rather experience something sort of new then the same old song and dance the apperant "Devil May Cry fans" want.
Also, the enemy concepts in this trailer alone stomps on any that have been released in DMC2-4. They actually look like demon-ish creatures, and NOT badly drawn anime monsters/rabid pokemon.
