Lets see, I joined xbox live december 2002....I've had an account since then, My account is paid through till 2009.....Is that answer enough?

If you dont like the microtransactions then vote with your wallet what you dont like you dont buy, and what you do like you do buy...that is the essence of all consumer interaction stuff that doesn't make money doesn't last long.

Oh and cobra you obviously know nothing about xbox live, NOT all maps cost money and the ones that do? soon become free, I pay money for the maps because they are worthwhile, if you dont like em then dont pay for em they will soon become free like they all ways do.

I don't mind paying for XBL considering it is the best service in the console space, I don't enjoying paying 4 dollars a month for it. I haven't bought a single micro-transaction yet so I don't know what that is like.

YEP...Im fine with it as I dont have to sit back and complain about every little thing like most people. If a person cant afford 50$ a year for a good online service they dont need to play games. If paying for extra content is out of your league...DONT buy the extra content...Plain and simple.

I do not like paying for a P2P network that should of been free

But I DO pay for it because its only 5 bucks. And well worth it. I make $50,000 a year. Minus 50 bucks. = thats $49,950. Nothing for me to care about.

Does anyone really like paying for any service or product? Of course not. Your question is biased as it doesn't make a comparison between benefits of paying and not paying.

I bought Live cards online for ~$30/year shipped w/ tax included. I'm happy with it at that price, since we're down to $2.50 a month at that price.

I don't mind paying $50 per year for live. Regarding microtransactions, I enjoy spending money for stuff, so yes, I enjoy it very much, thank you.

I do feel a small sense of satisfaction when I type in my prepaid 12 month gold sub code that I'm assuring and confirming for myself the best online service and lots of great content and a great year of online gaming ahead.

As for Microtransactions, I love buying XBLA games. It's like buying real games but without having to go to the store or wait for shipping. Other than that, not so much.

There are some parts of it I like. I enjoy the customization and I think the TRL Karima theme I downloaded was worth it.

I don't think Gamer Pictures should cost anything however. They look like a small dot on my television. I don't get a good look at it unless on Xbox.com or in my profile here.

All the EA games, Phantasy Star Universe...

but that's not the point. Just because the majority of games are p2p doesn't mean there aren't XBL servers that need maintaining behind the scenes.

And no one gets charged individually for "every map".

And most of them have known SOMETHING. A lot of them are also PC gamers.

You fail.

I actually do like paying for Xbox Live. I get a reliable, fun, efficient service that is very streamlined and accesibile for a measly 5 dollars a month. I'd pay double.

It's a good online service... Arguably the best on console's EVER! Why wouldn't people want it? Sure it'd be great if it was free, but it is what it is... When the other two services step up and get the same amount of content ect.. Then maybe fanboys will have a point.

Compared to the other 2 services which aren't as good? I don't mind one bit.

But I do mind the constant complaining about something some people don't have and never tried. If you don't want to pay, fine. But I'm perfectly satisfied with it.

People pay for water, yet it's free elsewhere, so what?

I like it. My Live subscription covers the fantastic, unified service, and the micro-transactions are easy-access, mini-expansion packs. The pricing for both is perfectly fair, in my opinion. I don't usually feel ripped off, that's for sure; although, the dreaded horse armor was infamously overpriced.

Sometimes i get the feeling that devs intentionally leave content out on DVDs just to sell them later on live  download content should be FREE.

The micro transactions are choice, the $50 a year for live to use P2P is arguable.

Alot of people bring up P2P, but I doubt Console owners are ready to step up and host servers with T1+ connections anytime soon like the PC community.

I have xbox live, and yes it is garbage. Xbox owners don't realize how bad P2P is because most of them have never had the oppurtunity to play on dedicated servers.

I have played PC online games A LOT and I can say I prefer consoles now. Its just better all around. And those who dont wanna step up to the 21st century need to stay where they are and not complain about those of us who do....

I have a question for lems; why do you like paying for p2p online when pc has free dedicated server online, free map and mods?
