of course they do who wouldnt wanna send more cash into bill gates pocket he needs all the moneys he can get
Lets see, I joined xbox live december 2002....I've had an account since then, My account is paid through till 2009.....Is that answer enough?
If you dont like the microtransactions then vote with your wallet what you dont like you dont buy, and what you do like you do buy...that is the essence of all consumer interaction stuff that doesn't make money doesn't last long.
Oh and cobra you obviously know nothing about xbox live, NOT all maps cost money and the ones that do? soon become free, I pay money for the maps because they are worthwhile, if you dont like em then dont pay for em they will soon become free like they all ways do.
Its all a choice and a choose to pay for XBL because its awesome service. I choose what will benefit me the most as far as buying extra content through it.Heil68Easily the most sensible and honest answer so far.
I do feel a small sense of satisfaction when I type in my prepaid 12 month gold sub code that I'm assuring and confirming for myself the best online service and lots of great content and a great year of online gaming ahead.
As for Microtransactions, I love buying XBLA games. It's like buying real games but without having to go to the store or wait for shipping. Other than that, not so much.
[QUOTE="cobrax75"]no, but most of them have never known anything, so they assume its alright to pay anualy for P2P servers, and be charged for every map.SkullboyXYour post proves that you know absolutely nothing about XBL. Stop posting here.
really? so what 360 game uses dedicaded servers?
There are some parts of it I like. I enjoy the customization and I think the TRL Karima theme I downloaded was worth it.
I don't think Gamer Pictures should cost anything however. They look like a small dot on my television. I don't get a good look at it unless on Xbox.com or in my profile here.

All the EA games, Phantasy Star Universe...
but that's not the point. Just because the majority of games are p2p doesn't mean there aren't XBL servers that need maintaining behind the scenes.
And no one gets charged individually for "every map".
And most of them have known SOMETHING. A lot of them are also PC gamers.
You fail.
I actually do like paying for Xbox Live. I get a reliable, fun, efficient service that is very streamlined and accesibile for a measly 5 dollars a month. I'd pay double.
Compared to the other 2 services which aren't as good? I don't mind one bit.
But I do mind the constant complaining about something some people don't have and never tried. If you don't want to pay, fine. But I'm perfectly satisfied with it.
People pay for water, yet it's free elsewhere, so what?

As for Microtransactions, some XBLA games are classics i've missed.

You could always, you know, not buy the crap stuff...
I have xbox live, and yes it is garbage. Xbox owners don't realize how bad P2P is because most of them have never had the oppurtunity to play on dedicated servers.jbz7890
I have played PC online games A LOT and I can say I prefer consoles now. Its just better all around. And those who dont wanna step up to the 21st century need to stay where they are and not complain about those of us who do....
