[QUOTE="Set_Free"] You dont see as many ps3 owners bashing the 360 on forums D0013ER

Off topic, but I'm not sure how you couldn't see them...

My thoughts exactly.  PS3 owners bashing the 360 is just as common as 360 owners bashing the PS3.  Talk like that makes you sound like a fanboy TC (not saying you are, but it makes it seem that way).

I don't want the PS3 to fail, I just want cows to fail because I find them most annoying of all fanboys (although all are annoying).

[QUOTE="Dire_Weasel"]Have you been paying attention to System Wars? Xbox fanboys lie in bed awake at night praying to Bill Gates in hopes that both Sony and Nintendo will go out of business.
Then they wake up, google for any negative news about Sony, and come post it here.tango90101

If thats true thats kind of disturbing...:?

naw...he's just bitter the ps3 is getting killed by the 360 after all his promises of how the ps3 would crush the 360...

it never occurred to him that the bad ps3 news wouldn't be so easy to find if there wasn't so much bad news with the ps3...;)

but there is nothign but bad news for the ps3 and here we are...

payback can be painful for some...:D

I geuss...

The lemmings who want PS3 dead would be delighted if MS could have a monopoly over videogames like they do over PC OSes. If PS3 dies then that means that Xbox 360 gets all of our games, in their demented little heads at least. And MS controlling the console market means that they can effectively controll which games come out, since all games must be approved by them before release.

Certainly not, if ps3 fails, microsoft wont be pushed to compete.

But hey it's not just xbox owners wanting ps3 to fail.

Yeah, I mean no competition in the high definition console market is the BEST THING THAT COULD EVER HAPPEN.

Just look at the operating system market. COMPETITION IN THE MARKET HAS REALLY SPAWNED GREAT THINGS, RIGHT?

yes and no.

yes becuase that means all of ps3s 3rd party exclusives would come to 360.

No becuase sony's first party games are great and there is a possibilty that they may not go 3rd party if ps3 fails. Also becuase competition is good for the industry.

Yeah competition is good for business.

I recall when the WWE (or WWF at the time) bought the WCW and I guess took over everything with the ECW too, it ruined business and everything took a nose dive. I have stopped watching since.

yea WWE went completely downhill from there...and likewise i have not watched nearly as much since that happened

yeah wrestling seemse ruined 4 ever :( and its super hard for wwe too make any new stars it sux so competing is awesome . thats why we need 360 and ps3 both too do well.

I don't want any console to fail. I just think that Microsoft has the proper vision for the future of gaming. Microsoft has done 2 great things for gaming: Power & Online

Nintendo has ignored this completely and Sony only provides it to compete with MS. So, Nintendo is that bad guy on my list since they are completely backwards to my vision. Sony is doing a good job, but MS dominates in the online realm. (Not to mention that the PS3 is $600).

YES!

I want the ps3 to fail.

because if the ps3 fails more games go to the xbox 360. you have already seen it with DMC4. The more ps3 fails the more devs will have to jump ship. that means the xbox increases in value .

the question rather is why do you want a 600 dollar behemoth to do well?

The objective of gamer is play all the best and most fun games. to do this one must buy all 3 consoles

in past generation it only required you to get  800 dollars to play all the best games. Now it is increasing it requires 1250 to get all the game systems.

wouldn't you rather have to pay 650 to get all the best games rather than 1250?

I will give you time to mullover that thought

There is nothing to mull over

Your logic is overwhelmingly flawed, as you don't understand what competition does to anything at all, from Madden exclusive NFL rights, to NES owning the industry at one point, to Atari almost buring the industry, to M$ very own product Windows. Good job not seeing the obvious.

Not this one, but I don't want Sony to dominate on brand name alone. This time, if they are still market leaders, I want it to be because they have the better product. IMO, Xbox was leagues ahead last Gen and so far the 360 is this gen.

I want the PS3 to fail, but my 360 has nothing to do with that desire.

I want it to fail because:

1. I don't want the industry to think that trojaning an agenda apart from videogames e.g. a movie format at the expense of the gamer is a good idea.

2. I don't want future console makers to be rewarded for smoke and mirrors marketing, CGI and flat-out lies.

3. I don't want future videogame CEO's to be complete lunatics.

4. I don't want future videogame consoles to think that gamers will pay any price for their machines.

5. I don't want future videogame makers to continue to make the process of game development a difficult one.

Basically, the vast majority of the decisions that Sony made with this console were not good for the gamer or the industry. It's lackluster sales, mass exodus of exclusives and it's overall tipping on the edge of failure is a great message to the future Sony consoles, the future MS consoles, Nintendo and whoever else jumps in this ring.

If the PS3's failure continues, we can hope to see a gaming future where they listen more to what the gamer wants instead of telling them what they want. We will see console makers focus on VIDEOGAMING and not movies. We will see companies realize that price DOES matter. We will see console makers use proven technology. We will see console makers that develop with the developer in mind.

If the PS3 succeeds then I hate to see the lessons learned by the industry if Sony's horrible decisions were rewarded.

I have my beef with Microsoft too, mostly in their quality department, however, they made decisions that were ultimately good for gaming and the gamer while Nintendo has cleverly discovered a way to expand an already huge market to non-gamers.

GameGooN73
EXCELLENT post! I said earlier that competition is good, and that wanting any one system to fail is crazy, but your argument is definitely true. If the PS3 does win this generation, the repurcussions would be negative for the future of the videogame industry. If they are able to make the mistakes and decisions they have made, and basically force something on the public (blu-ray) and STILL win, then that will set a scary precedent for the future.
