I know they r quite uncommon, but I think a potential AAAA title will be maybe SSBB. I dont own a wii, but I think this game has amazing potential. Another possibility is Little big planet, this is due to the fact that it is so original, is pretty much infinitely replayable, and it has gotten really good feedback from critics so far.

what do u guys think?

if you are going to add LittleBigPlanet or Brawl, you can't ignore Starcraft 2 and Spore.

To be quite honest, no game will get AAAA.

"Quite uncommon" doesn't really do justice to the unlikelihood of a title being rated AAAA at GS. Only four games in history have ever achieved it - and the standards have only gotten higher.

I don't realisticly expect any game to get AAAA, but I think Spore and LittleBigPlanet will have the best chance at it next year.

why would people say that and then leave Spore out? The BIG thing about LittleBigPlanet is user generated content and flexibility. Spore takes user generate content even further, and is just as flexible. And Spore has gotten a MUCH bigger reception from the press. LittleBigPlanet got a great reception but when the press has played and seen Spore, it has been THE event of any given show.

m just wondering because we havent seen one In a long time, and looking at the games for '08 I can kind of see LBP or SSBB possibly getting AAAA. I dont think mgs 4 will ever be able to achieve AAAA, deffinitely a 9-9.5. i cantt think of any 360 titles that could achieve AAAA, correct me if I am wrong

SSBB looks fun, just like the previous iterations of the game, but there's no way it's getting a 10, I'm calling an 8.5 or 9.

just because "it hasn't happened in a long time" doesn't mean that any games are deserving. Brawl and LBP look great. But AAAA they are not. No game should be AAAA. And the ONLY game that won't be a complete shock IMO is Spore. It is a game that is literally pushing the industry forward. In a massive way too. EVERYONE in the press was utterly disappointed when EA said Spore wouldn't be at E3 '07 simply because they had enjoyed it so much in previous years that they had looked forward a lot. I will say that Starcraft 2 is also up there only because Blizzard is always so close to perfection. I SERIOUSLY DOUBT it getting a AAAA but it has just as much (if not more) chance than Brawl and LBP. That is my opinion.

Spore

Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Little Big Planet.

Banjo-Threeie (though there may or may not be a complaint about the mumbling).

Again, my dream list.

why would people say that and then leave Spore out? The BIG thing about LittleBigPlanet is user generated content and flexibility. Spore takes user generate content even further, and is just as flexible. And Spore has gotten a MUCH bigger reception from the press. LittleBigPlanet got a great reception but when the press has played and seen Spore, it has been THE event of any given show.

I watched a video of Spore, and all I saw was a user creating little creatures, and then running around biting each other. What else is involved? I'm sorry, I don't know a lot about it, but from the one video that I watched, it looked really unappealing to me.

You also generate all the architecture for your "civilization" your space crafts, your vehicles, your creatures, your buildings, EVERYTHING is designed solely by you. there is even a certain level of terraforming late in the game. And ALL of the stuff you create gets put into something called a "Massively Singleplayer Metaverse." As you play the game and expand, you will discover new planets. These new planets will be inhabited by content that other users created. You can then conquer these planets, take in their content and gain new ideas. Now, this is all still single player. Technically, you SEE what someone else created and what they have, but once you discover them on a planet, they are played on your side of the game. Your actions (destroying their civilization) won't ruin their experience. That is a Massively Single Player Metaverse.

Really quite complicated overall. There is a lot more to it than that video showed. Infact, there is more to it than my brief description. It would take a 5 hours video to show everything and probably several pages to explain it.

I hate how people complain about the mumbling. Some games hardly have any dialogue at all, and they still turn out to be great (SMG).

i see LBP as having a bigger chance too. However, Starcraft 2 will be as close to RTS perfection as we will probably ever see until Starcraft 3... That is just how Blizzard works. Starcraft 2 does have a higher chance than Brawl though. Nothing away from Brawl though, but competing with a company like Blizzard puts you against the odds.

While I do think Spore and possibly LBP, do have a chance more than most games at AAAA, I dont think people take into account how different these games are and how they could ultimately fail big time, especially LBP, because of that. The factors they hinge on for success, to me at least, are too uncertain to say these games will be perfect.

With SSBB, Im totally biased and think its the second coming of Christ, but I honestly believe that since its a proven formula, perfected and bursting with content it has a chance at 10/10, though I ultimately believe it'll get hit for its online which isnt, as far as we know, the greatest thing out there.

Unfortunately SSBB will probably get an 8.5 or 9 at most. Banjo will probably get an 8.0 or under since it is impossible for it to have it's former impact. LBP probably won't get that high of a score because the amount of creation will be somehow limited or something along those lines. Spore = maybe MAYBE a 10. However, with the recent reports about it saying it is just too ambitious and will fall short, I could see a 8.5 or perhaps 9

As much as I love SSB, its a low AAA franchise.

GT5, NG2, Starcraft 2 have better chances at AAAA.

Final Fantasy 13 getting AAAA would be so awsome though..

HAHAH ur actually taking the piss about the LBP creation being limited! lol you can pretty much create ANYTHING. and new updates and objects and stuff will be added all the time as downloadable content. dont give that as a reason for it not getting AAAA, there are many other limiting factors thatcould stump it.

Spore

Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Little Big Planet.

Banjo-Threeie (though there may or may not be a complaint about the mumbling).

Again, my dream list.

HAHAH ur actually taking the piss about the LBP creation being limited! lol you can pretty much create ANYTHING. and new updates and objects and stuff will be added all the time as downloadable content. dont give that as a reason for it not getting AAAA, there are many other limiting factors that will stump it.

I wish I could find the article. It was talking about LBP having x amount of content to play with. This implies there is a limited selection of what you can create. Even if that selection is extremely large, you will still see some of the same things re-used. This may still be enough to please the reviewer. Time will tell.

Edit- on the wiki page it says the objects textures may be modified with pictures from your hard drive. However, the number of objects are limited so there will only be x combinations to creating a level. See where this is going?

While I do think Spore and possibly LBP, do have a chance more than most games at AAAA, I dont think people take into account how different these games are and how they could ultimately fail big time, especially LBP, because of that. The factors they hinge on for success, to me at least, are too uncertain to say these games will be perfect.

With SSBB, Im totally biased and think its the second coming of Christ, but I honestly believe that since its a proven formula, perfected and bursting with content it has a chance at 10/10, though I ultimately believe it'll get hit for its online which isnt, as far as we know, the greatest thing out there.

As much as I love SSB, its a low AAA franchise.

GT5, NG2, Starcraft 2 have better chances at AAAA.

Final Fantasy 13 getting AAAA would be so awsome though..

Nah, no way in hell a racing game is getting AAAA. They are all the same.

I won't talk to you about racing games because they are clearly not your thing.

And to the other guy -- Do you know how hard it's going to be to create something like Spore or LBP without flaws? Something will be wrong with these games. They will probably be great, but with so many things to do in these games, a noticeable problem will turn up somewhere.

Starcraft 2, NG2, and FF13 all have opportunites to perfect their respected genre (as well as GT5).

Spore and LBP are risktakers.

Killzone2 and Haze look like neither polished perfection or risky innovation -- probably will be low AA.

[QUOTE="Jared2720"]The only possible AAAA, in my opinion, would be LittleBigPlanet.horrowhip

....

why would people say that and then leave Spore out?

Thanks for that description. I didn't know about most of that. It sounds cool, but I'd like to see some of that in action before I get behind its AAAA chances.

I can see NG2 getting AAAA since the only thing hold back NG1 was the difficulty,

FFXIII also could be AAAA, I think FFXII was only AAA due to its graphics, while the gameplay was great, this time the hardware can't limit it

ng2 will never get AAAA, it is soo much like Ninja gaiden sigma that it would never merit aaaa status. I dont think we know enough about the next final fantasy to make an accurate hypothesis. just my 2 cents

FFXII scored highly because it succesfully broke away from the typical JRPG style, yet still kept the feel. And I think FFXIII is going to be unlike any JRPG we've played. And if the gameplay looks that fluid than wow.

If the first Ninja Gaiden for Xbox was Ninja Gaiden Black, i think it could have been AAAA.

some of that has been shown. And most industry insiders have seen it already. The general opinion is, Spore is something special.

Spore has been "done" for over a year now. All the creation screens, all the content, all of it is "done." They have just spent the last year and half(2 years probably by release) fine tuning, fixing bugs and optimizing. They also have a ton of people in their QA section...
