I think we might see another AAAA sooner than we think, GS has been dumbing down its scoring system and we had quite few 9.5s last fall already, so I think it's just a matter of time that some game scores 10. The game has to be casual friendly, deep and innovative to get it tho, Spore fits the describtion but I have a hard time seeing GS give a PC game a 10.EntwineX
"Dumbing down" the scoring system doesn't mean they're going to be any easier on scoring. It just means the scores are going to be less broad.

Well what I was referring to was mostly the change of 10 from "perfect" to "prime", along with other changes it could imply that a 10 is now more likely than in the past years.Well what I was referring to was mostly the change of 10 from "perfect" to "prime", along with other changes it could imply that a 10 is now more likely than in the past years.

Or they could have realized the stupidity in labeling any game "Perfect". No game is perfect. Period. There's always at least one tiny flaw, so no game is ever going to be perfect.
Hmmm, maybe Ninja Gaiden 2 or GTA IV? Don't see Little big Planet or SSBB. Don't even seeing those even getting AAA.Gnr_Helsing
then ur not really on top of the ball

Well who knows their true motives, other than the guys who changed it. But what we do know is that they took out the specific scores for graphics, sound etc. which potentially makes it easier to give out the score they want even if the game lacks in one or two areas. They also implemented 0.5 increments so a 9.8/9.9 game in the past could now be a 10. And then changing the perfect to prime, not to mention stuff like that some writer dude recently quitting and saying he felt GS is going for a softer tone and higher scores, or something like that... I could be wrong but I feel we might have a better chance of seeing a 10 now than in the past. Not trying to cook up a conspiracy theory, just saying that the new scoring system has more potential to give out scores from both ends of the scale.Well who knows their true motives, other than the guys who changed it. However, if a game got a 9.8 or 9.9 in the past and was rated today, the reviewer would still give it a 9.5 if they didn't think it deserved a 10. For example, let's say Twilight Princess was re-rated. It scored 8.8, but the reviewer doesn't think it deserves a 9. Therefore, it gets 8.5.
Hah.
No.
Maybe if there was a chance of the FF7 remakenext year and they vamped it up a notch, like Elzaar.
BAM!

Possibly. But if old games were re-reviewed without looking at the old scores, TP could also be 9 in the new system, or AC could be 8.9 in the old system, it really works both ways. The point is they can't fall back on 9.8 or 9.9 anymore to avoid justifying the "perfect" score, now they have to make a choise between 2 scores instead of 6, and less choises should equal to more 9.5s and 10s. I feel(and hope) that they can't keep lumping all the exceptional games in the 9.5 category. To acquire AAAA status a game has to be perfect in every sense, thats very hard to achieve...now at this day and age when gaming is so saturated(looking at you FPS genre) a game has to be revolutionary too to get that status...I think it'll be hard for a game to get a perfect score here on GS, nobody really knows though anything can happen...
The Only two games that have small yet considerable chances of scoring a perfect ten are MGS4 and FFXIII
If Resident Evil 5 comes out this year it could do it.
Spore has a chance as well.
[QUOTE="black_awpN1"]I dont think a game has ever been AAAA in the history of Games. Correct me if im wrong. horrowhip
you are wrong. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Tony hawk Pro Skater 3 (didn't deserve it but AAAA none-the-less) and one other I believe. Can't remember it though.
the four AAAA titles, according to Gamespot, are The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Chrono Cross, Soul Calibur and *grumble* tony hawk 3
I know they r quite uncommon, but I think a potential AAAA title will be maybe SSBB. I dont own a wii, but I think this game has amazing potential. Another possibility is Little big planet, this is due to the fact that it is so original, is pretty much infinitely replayable, and it has gotten really good feedback from critics so far.
what do u guys think?
Brazil_Surfer
Brawl? If that gets AAAA, anything could. Nintendos barely changed that series at all. Metal gear solid 4, might get it. But its a BIG might. If it has all these crawl roll maneuvers, that actually revolutionizes 3rd person games like mgs2 did, it has a good chance.
But if anything gets it, I really hope it'd be duke nukem forever. I just want people to see people in awe.
