With the launch of next generation consoles was an opportunity to broaden horizons. Present less viscerally morally bankrupt titles and focus on woman who born with breasts. The sims and casual bejewell style app games have shown a huge, huge sect of woman over the age of 18 now play games. Likewise my friends, minecraft is practically Notch offering children under the age of 5 heroin.

My friends, have the next generation consoles played it far too safe, or have they successfully pushed the boat out and targeted these demographics adequately?

Yes, infact every game should have some form of romance

The reason why final fantasy ix is the best game ever, was due to it's amazing romance <3

If it necessary then yes eg:RPG's. Keep it away from certain genres.

FFX's love story was great:-)

The more emotions they touch the better, at least for story games. I agree with FFX, the awkward laugh scene made that couple! xD

if the notion of love flows natural within the games story then sure, if it feels forced and misplaced, never.

Pretty much like in movies or books.

I would like to see better stories overall (which is not based on "herp derp puckish rogue") and with deeper stories comes more feelings in the story told, and love should be one of those.

But if I see some horrible cataclysmic event of a story where bare survival is the focus, then love is pretty out of place.

Yes, but make sure to turn it off before you try to stick your dick in it
