I have a ps3 slim and am thinking of purchasing the 360 slim. Except for Halo, Mass Effect 2, Fable, Alan Wake and Gears of War, another reason I might be buying it is the rumour that nearly all multiplatform games run and look better on the 360?

Is this true? Should I get a 360 for the reasons listed above?

Thanks in advance :D

The games don't run/look that much better to warrant another console purchase just for multi-plat games.

With most of the ones that do look better, it's unnoticeable to the average player. Unless you force yourself to notice it, they look identical on both systems(excluding a few select games)

I did look at the graphic thread that Gamespot has which stated that the 360 mostly has the superior version of any multiplatform game :P However, I could not really tell myself (the ps3 version of the games did sometimes look blurier but then the contrast bewteen dark and light was also stronger)- and then, there were all the 'the pics have been photoshopped' comments which I dunno whether to believe in or not :P

I tend to buy my multiplats on PS3, because my system is much quieter for some reason. I will admit that most 360 multiplat games are slightly superior in general, but not so much in most cases as to matter greatly. If you watch one of those videos where they compare them side by side it can be noticeable....so don't watch them. Because I guarantee, when you take the game home, put it in your ps3, a good game will stay a good game and a bad game will still suck and you wont care either way about the xbox version. I have the PS3 version of RDR, i rushed out to get it before it sold out, then I got home, watched the side by side comparison video, xbox looked better, I put it in my machine, and it didn't bother me once.

I am a 360 owner and usually the only difference graphics wise is maybe there are a little less jaggies on the 360 version and maybe some lighting is better but thats about it, they are almost always identical. Most multiplats usually run the same too in terms of FPS. PS3 sometimes has some frame rate problems in say Bayonetta or Orange Box, but Xbox 360 has framerate problems in Darksiders and a few other games. So to be honest unless you are going to play halo, Gears and don't have a good gaming PC for Mass effect then i would jsut stick with your PS3. You should buy a console for exclusives. I love Halo its fun so i Picked the 360, i am thinking of getting a PS3 but yeah cookies.

most multiplats that are build under 360 hardware dont usePS3's Cell's spu's, xdr ram, bluray.

most of them are build on 360 hardware and then the code is ported to ps3, some are ported well and some not so good.

take gta4 on pc for example, it ran worse on a pc with a video card that is 5x times more powerfull than the console ones so it really comes down who gets the better multiplat support from devs.

yes, it's been proven time and time again that multiplats (the majority of games released) do look better on the 360...
