Don't buy a PS3 unless it has BC, because Sony should not have omitted this feature from its console.

[QUOTE="ogvampire"]And your a good man for doing so! grats. Wrong, you're only showing Sony that you don't care about BC. They would bring it back if sales were low.too late... i already did :(

while i agree that many gamers would want their new console to play games from a previous system, there are many MANY others who buy a new console mainly for its new games.. (i happen to have a PS3 with BC but never used such feature and i also still have a PS2)..

the comsumers have already spoken with their money by showing less interest in the PS3 than any other console. So by your logic wouldnt they keep BC?[QUOTE="n00bkid"][QUOTE="ogvampire"]And your a good man for doing so! grats. Wrong, you're only showing Sony that you don't care about BC. not sure they would blame the lack of BC if its sales are low...
plus, im sure next gen you will be able to download alot of ps2 games through PSN anyway
lol you should of never been cheap and got the other sku with BC
any way people crying for BC won't even use it, if you want it that bad just leave your ps2 hooked up
I have the 60gig and my ps2 slim is still hooked up to another tv of mine so whats so hard of people doing the same.
It has PS1 BC. If they kept PS2 BC it would be more expensive. Floppy_JimYou can't really believe that.

Don't buy a360 unless there is no more RROD because Microsoft should have fixed it a long time ago.
First off Who does not have a PS2 here lol... Second off if you do not what do you want to play with it... Finally, Sony can't afford to add PS2 Backward compatability they will lose the sales off people still buying PS2's and the Ps3 is already the most for your money...W1ckedGo0seEven if you have a PS2 it is still lame. I GUARANTEE your PS2 does not look as good on an HDTV as a PS2 game on my 60GB PS3 with smoothing and upscaling on and through HDMI.

yup... that was MS's plan all along
dont buy ps3's cause 360's arent reliable.... wha?
EDIT: Dang, you edited your post
BC won't pull in potential customers, the PS3 games will be what brings in the customers. So far I would say these games are looking pretty outstanding for the consumers that are interested in a PS3. With so many games coming out they won't have time for BC games. While BC would be nice, majority of people do not go back and play their old games. BC will not be a huge system seller for more then maybe 5-10k people since most people already have a PS2.

No doubt. Don't support it cuz of shoddy hardware and ovepriced accessories. I can't believe they got away with such poor hardware.80% of the people here crying for B/C would'nt use it... Ever.

Lol I knew someone would quote me before I fixed it. Btw if anyone wants a BC ps3 I think its $330 at gamestop, even though that wouldn't really benefit Sony(I think it's a little high, though). I expect them to bring BC back, but that will probably take a while. Maybe when they start making enough of a profit and discontinue ps2s, it might happen. I'd buy a ps3 in a second if it had BC because it adds more than just allowing you to play ps2 games.
Whoa look a me I don't think games are disposable and want to be able to still play them should the console no longer be manufactured.who look at me I buy next gen systems to play old games

i have missed quite a few ps2 games, so i agree. but just like how ps1 games are offered this gen through PSN, i expect the same for ps2 games next gen

BC will be on all systems in future.sexxxyboyYeah that's what Sony said with the PS2. They started it, and now they bailed on it. Glad I got one.

Not at all. The 360s library was better maybe 2 years ago, but now it's basically the same. If you think about it, the ps3 has done a lot better as far as games go because the 360 had a 1 year advantage. As far as ps3 vs an elite 360 goes, the ps3 is a far better choice.

Whoa look a me I don't think games are disposable and want to be able to still play them should the console no longer be manufactured. If you don't get rid of your old games why would you get rid of the Games System... and the PS2 is still being Manufactured... BC is not a problem with Sony because they still have good support on the PS2 unlike Microsoft and how they dropped the Xbox as fast as they could (can't even find controllers anymore)Ppl whose PS2 broke maybe? Removing BC off the PS3 i something negative and there is no way cows can spin this after giving the 360 so much crap about it in the past.Who doesn't HAVE a ps2 at this point? :?

I really don't understand why Nintendo or Microsoft didn't just sell their old consoles for low prices like Sony is doing. It would make them a lot of money and people would buy them just by looking at the price difference. If you have a young child who you want to get a game console for, it won't matter what the graphics look like to them. They'll be happy to just play the games themselves. One reason why I didn't get an Xbox last gen was because the online cost money andthe price was hard to justify compared to the ps2's and the games the ps2 had. If it costed $100 now, I would buy it right away(and judging by the 360's price, they could easily do that).

When I played RE4 on my GC I kept playing cuz it was fun but I sure would have liked it if it looked as good as a PS2 game on my PS3. Wanting the graphics not to look like **** is not a bad thing, and yes we ALL know gameplay is more important.
