Do people not realize how terrible the GameCube was?

The system had around 130 AA+ games

in contrast..

the PS2 had around 300 AA+ games and the Xbox had around 200 AA+ games

 The gamecube also only had 19 AAA games

the xbox had 40

the ps2 had 61  

I bought a gamecube with 2 controllers & Super Smash bros melee about I week back. I traded in 2 xbox 360 games for all of it.

Gamecube was flameproof:) Much unlike this topic.

It was BY FAR more fun than all the others IMO. I had all 3.

That is simply because of the lack of third party support, it is one of my most favorite systems ever though.

Excluding 3rd parties the GC had way more titles that were more interesting to me than the Xbox.tegovoltio

I played most 3rd parties on PS2.

It also had 3 GOTY out of the 5 years it was released.jeffwulf

I couldn't pass up the GC with smash bros bundle.  It was too godly.

you had the GC for that long and you bought a whole 10 games for it? who's wasting their money now?  I've had mine for almost 3 years and bought a truck load of games for it and enjoyed it more than my PS2

The bundle came out A LOT later.  I'm pretty sure it was less than $100 too.   And I had more fun playing smash than a lot of the other games I played on GC.

So, are we saying that consoles are terrible because they have lack of games?

Well, by that definition, PS3 is dead last in this gen. IT IS JUST HORRIBLE. Flame me if you want, but that is the criteria you people have set up, and this is a valid argument.  

And another thing, when you use the word people, it covers all demographics of gamers, "Not just you and your lil niche of self proclaimed hardcore gamers." So, the next time you bring out another topic like this, the title should be "DOES SONY SUPPORTERS NOT REALIZE HOW TERRIBLE THE GAMECUBE WAS?" In that topic, you will of course get responses by people who are converted to your cause, just alot of yes men.

In regards to how terrible the gamecube was, i don't think it was terrible. I owned one, it was durable as a rock, i could throw it at you and it will still work. It was one of the two systems last gen that was solely for gaming rather than an all in one system. And i was smart about my purchases, i bought games i knew i was gonna enjoy. So, i had a good run with my GC.

A game as timeless as Melee (came out almost 6 years ago) is a pretty long drink my friend, thousands are still gulping without a breath...and that's just one example.

I'll say this and I hope you all understand clearly.People who say the gamecube was a failure are not true gamers and are as stupid as stupid can get.The tc talks about x-number of "aaa" titles for each system like thats all that matters to anyone is critically acclaimed games and like anybody buys hundreds of games for one system,extreme idiocy at it's finest.

AA game ratings mean nothing if you dont enjoy those games. The gamecube had an amazing game lineup.

I had a PS2 and GC and I played my Gamecube waaaaaaay more. The only good games for PS2 was maybe GTA and Kingdom Hearts.

GC was fine if you owned another system to push you through the doughts.  IDK if you've noticed or not but all the people praising how awesome the GC was all owned another system.

No gamer was satisfied w/ just a GC last gen and that's why it's considered a poor system.  You can pretty much apply the same criteria to any system and say it's never failed.

The gamecube was cheaper, almost no loading times, great graphics and ad mario....nothing more to be said, lol.

Nintendo as a game company is great...it just needs to loose the kiddy image as fast as possible so it

can recieve better support from third devs 

ive still got one but at the time there were no games at all compared to what firstly ps2 offered and xbox did...

gets me thinking why they made the wii with less powerful inerds........casue they sold nothing last gen and couldnt afford to keep up with the others...

People by Nintendo consoles for Nintendo games, they are that good. Nobody bought a Gamecube for Call of Duty, Need for Speed and Tony Hawk.

Wait wait wait.  So because people want to play the games on another system, that means the one they have now sucks?  That doesn't make any sense!  I got my GC because I expected to be wowed by N, and I was.  Then, I wanted to play Katamari, Burnout, etc. so I got a PS2.  When Halo 2 came out, I got an Xbox and played that.  I also got Half-life 2 for my PC amung other PC games too.  So does that mean all of the systems sucked because I had to get all 3?  No, it just means I like to have variety and play all the good games.
