Agreed 110%
No. It had many flaws that I felt weren't adressed in the GS review: repetitive gameplay, lack of enemy variety, terrible level design comprised of boring and samey-looking enviroments. I remeber there's this part where you had to go like 7-9 screens through the exactly the same looking narrow corridor. It was painful, you'd think devs would look at that and realize somethings wrong with this.
No,I don't find it to be an AAA title. And it's also my favorite game on the Wii.VGobbsesserthat makes no sense.
Unless you give everyrhing on the wii less and AA?
I love No More Heroes. It's one of my favorite games this gen. But it definately does not deserve a 9.
The game has alot of issues.
-Over world is useless
-Stupid gliches where Travis's attacks bounce off of bosses when they are doing nothing.
-other glitches where I dark slide around a boss and my attacks go right through them as they do nothing.
-guard breaking is useless.
-throwing is useless against a group of enemies.
-certain times bosses are invincible while they are doing nothing.
-Lack of enemy variety.
-Almost all of the enemies are cannon fodder.
-Generic level desgin for many levels
-repetivite side missions
-boss move sets are for the most part very simple predictable and shallow
-getting caught on invisible walls (Especially when fighting Shinobu)
-Locking on system can be a pain when you're trying to target a certain enemy
-gamess too short
-almost all bosses can be beaten using the same pattern
-charging a high attack is useless and not worth the energy loss
-charging a low attack is useless against enemies and not worth the energy loss (with the exception of bosses)
-combat system needs more depth
-camera can be an issue sometimes (for example fighting on the bus when traveling to the third ranked assassin's destination.)
-only being able to emergency roll in three directions instead of eight.

Nope,I thought games like Prime 3 and Super Paper Mario were around 9.0+ titles.Although,I'm not sure how what I said didn't make sense; I have to rate a game higher than everything else for it to be my favorite?
Meh. The general consensus is lower than the score Gamespot gave -- then again, ever since that botched... and joke-of-a-review that Kevin wrote for Mass Effect, I've lost all respect for him as a reviewer.Stevo_the_gamer
you should go read the MP3 review. He is a very inconsistant reviewer. Sometimes his reviews are well written and give valid reasons for his scores, and sometimes his reviews are terribly written that seem to ignore good or bad points of a game.

Exactly. He also gave Assassins Creed a 9.0.No,I don't find it to be an AAA title. And it's also my favorite game on the Wii.VGobbsesserYou rated TP and MP3 9.5 in your blog.
I give the game 7.0-7.5. What I hated about the game was the tedious repetitive minion fights you had to fight to reach each boss fights. No More Heroes, Assasin's Creed, and Warioware are 3 games that didn't deserve to get AAA scores on GS.

My favorite game on the Xbox 360 is Mass Effect, yet I rated Halo 3 higher. Scores don't always reflect someone's favorite game, lad.
The hub alone drops it down to a 7. Its embarassing that they seriously released it thinking that was acceptable. The game itself is quirky, weird, tough, and fun. I liked it quite a bit. More fun than Killer 7 but not really AAA quality. Very unpolished.
The question is, how many people here giving scores actually played the game, or even own a Wii?
I sure spotted some people in here who already admited never owning a Wii, yet they are so shure about their opinions of it
But i'm gonna be nice and not call them out ;)
Personally I think that it's more of an 8.0-8.5 game. It was great, but had some problems that I hope they fix for the sequel. Even so, I think it's just a very hit or miss game, where I can easily understand the people who think it should be 7.5 or under, and the people who think it should be 9.0-9.5.Hungry_Homer111I pretty much agree with this.
yes, it's one of the few games that deserves an AAA, anyone who says the flaws hampered the games message or design didn't actually get it
now the sequel won't have the same impact so they'll need to make up for a lot of the issues, but this game should not be criticized for it's hub in any way since it isn't trying to be gta.. it's more like a mario hub but bigger
Why are we still arguing about this? Aren't there more recent games to be scrutinizing over instead of NMH? Was it really that controversial? But whatever, I say yes. NMH was over the top awesome in just about every way. It was like the kind of game I wish existed when I was a little kid. Over the top satirical violence, insane character designs, and a story that made me go WTF at least 10 times. Yes, the graphics were horrendous, but I think the awesome artstyle and sense of humor more than made up for it.
