Oh, that's a little bit disheartening.

Perhaps but come on, the Wii platform is basically dead for third party titles and rightfully so. Its year 4, why are third parties now trying to be successful. Everyone who could have been won left in 2008.

It is if you want to make some big sales. The Wii has far more games than the PS3 with a larger install base. The sales were higher I know but the individual sales of the titles were underwhelming to say the least. There is not much reason to pour lots of money into a third party Wii game anymore. I mean, if you're not going to do it right anyway. Why there is no 2D Sonic game on the Wii or TPS esident Evil game baffles me, its free money but your 2nd-3rd rate crap will not cut it frankly.

Is this sales after one month or after a week?

I judge a game on how successful it is after a month of its release, as not all games sell high in their first weeks and some do have "legs" and sell well in the long run (e.g. New Super Mario Bros. Wii).

I would judge whether Super Mario Galaxy 2 sales are good or bad after one month of its release, not after one week which the May NPD software chart reflects.

Well farnham, I have two reasons:

1. VGChartz (inb4 lol vgchartz) says that Tri sold more than Freedom for PSP, but less than Freedom 2 and Freedom Unite. There's a disparity between the amount of advertising that went into the game and the sales they got out of it in the West, which doesn't bode well for future third party games on Wii.

2. With MH3, Capcom was attempting to reboot the series and popularize it outside of Japan. Judging by those sales, I am not seeing that happening right now or occurring in the near future..

there are over 77 million sellers on wii with over 50 of them being thirdparty also there are 2 sonic games comming out this year. sonic colors and sonic 4 both look pretty good especially sonic colors has gotten alot of praises and is wii exclusive

those VGchartz numbers are fishy, how is tri at 240k with Just 2 months of sales? Its weird. But even if that;s true, it only bolds well for tri to outsell those titles given how its surpassed them in the same time period.

Link me to the Wii million sellers, I have a good idea but most of those titles are not from this year or last year either. Sonic 4 will suck (it kills me), sonic colours is looking positive so far (but every sonic game bar black knight does). but really, tell me, with so many million sellers why is it that we don't hear of their success?

Haven't seen the most recent numbers, but the tie ratio for the Wii has been right up there with the PS3. Which is impressive taking into consideration all the grandma's who only play Wii Sports, right?;)

Yeah Actic, I don't know how accurate those numbers are. It also shows the week by week sales, and it's around 5K per week now. Again, it's still VGChartz so I am a bit hesitant to rely on those numbers.

I hope the game does well. You and Shinobishyguy bring up a good point that it's been out for a significantly smaller period of time than the other MH titles I mentioned. The game fell off the radar a bit after it was released and the whole SMG2 AAAA thing occurred, so I was a bit curious as to how it fared.
