i'm not interested in it but it is as legit as any other gaming.
lol, what kind of snob do you have to be to consider the way you waste your time better than the way someone else wastes theirs?
To me the deeper games coming out for iOS just make it more obvious where developers are bumping up against the input and battery life limitations.
Someday the code will be cracked on complex touchscreen-only games, but it won't involve emulating a controller. That was never a good idea.
yeah? what kind of games have you seen or been playing on mobile platforms? there's a good amount of great games out there.yes, but the real question is whether or not it is a good gaming platform, and to that i would have to say no.

i don't understand why ur so mad :? dont be mad, be glad
Just curious once again on everyone's opinions here. I know mobile gaming is saturated with a bunch of trash and what not, but there really are some gems out there that can compete with the best handheld games. Of course there's the casual crap like Angry Birds and all that type stuff, but there are some pretty legitimate games out there. On my iPad right now I'm playing Across Age HD which is a great RPG, League of Evil which has INCREDIBLE controls for a Super Meat Boy touch screen game, and Mage Gauntlet which is another recent great RPG. There seems like mobile game developers are getting better and better. RPGs in particular are getting better and better. I don't have to rely on crap like Zenonia to get a mobile RPG fix, and I don't need a DS or anything either it seems. Opinions?CasualMike
Acer Iconia W500 tablet running King's Bounty: Armored Princess (RPG) PC with touch input i.e. gameplay example
Acer Iconia W500 tablet is priced the same as Apple Ipad 2.

lul what? that was a serious questionI guess. Most of the more traditional games are just too hampered by the touch-only controls, but there are tons of fun games out there regardless.

How is he mad? He simply asked you a question. Which you avoided answering by trying to twist it and saying he is mad.[QUOTE="painguy1"][QUOTE="CasualMike"] yeah? what kind of games have you seen or been playing on mobile platforms? there's a good amount of great games out there.AmazonTreeBoa

Sure. But they're just somehow lacking in something for me to get into them, so I'll stick to my PC and handhelds.starjet905yeah like a separate physical input control device
there are full fledged games on mobile platforms, you know. 40-50 hr RPGs and what not.If gaming is mini-games that can be played while your waiting for the bus or inbetween other mundane activities, sure, but it isn't close to what gaming is to me.

There are some nice games there, but I don't put much focus on either platform. Both browser games and mobile games just serve as nice distraction from time to time.
On generall terms though, everything that has many games on it is a legitimate gaming platform.
[QUOTE="PC360Wii"][QUOTE="tomarlyn"]I didn't until I got my iPad 2, its great for gaming. Definitely rivals handhleds but the games are much cheaper. A lot of people don't take it seriously here though, I used to be like that but playing is believing.tomarlynReally... REALLY... if you say so... You have to give it a chance, a little time. Aiming in FPS's is more accurate than analogue to begin with. There's no shooter on handhelds as solid as Nova 2, Modern Combat 2 or Shadowgun either. Even if there were they would be 10 times more expensive for the same thing.
Wow. You are out of you mind. I'm not saying ipad is bad for gaming, but saying that a digital analogs is better than an actual analog is just wrong. Resistance for psp and the metroid games on ds are superior than those game you listed. On the ipad you can't even move the reticlue and shoot at hte same time. Plus the games that you listed are such shallow and generic expiriences that they aren't even worth a mention. The games we should be talkign about are games like Sword and Sworcery.
