If SONY came up with a handheld that's a lot better than the 3DS in every form and way you can possibly think of.

You don't know that. You just make up that it will sell better and then say "what does that tell you". Well it tells me something that is real will sell better than something made up that isn't real.

It tells me Nintendo is better at marketing its product.

But then this whole scenario is a wild hypothetical.

Technical power and costs are not the only thing that makes technology successful.

there is such things as the Fun factor and accessability.

several rules to having a successful product.

*Costs

*Hardware support-peripherals, add-ons

*Software support-games, services

*Company reputation, brand recognition, technical and customer service

*what is available on the market/current state of the market

*User friendliness/ ergonomics and design of the techonology

what are you saying? are you implying the DS is worse than the PSP?

Because the DS is better, and sells more. Fact.

It tells me you think the 3DS is going to outsell the next PSP. I can't extract anything else out of it other than that. Also, Nintendo has a lot of popular franchises like Mario, Pokemon, Star Fox, and such games. Those games sell a lot of systems. I'm not sure what's unfair about that.

It tells me Sony actually screwed up bad then in a lot of areas. Because there is no reason if they had all of that they shouldn't win. But frankly, its no the amount of AAA titles, its the games themselves and their identity that matter.

No one will ever "win" system wars. People are always going to disagree, no matter what the topic. Anyways, 3DS would probably sell more, because Nintendo has a better reputation of being more family friendly. Besides, have you seen graphics for the 3DS? It's amazing.
