I used to be a bit excited with Wii-u but when i saw the live demo of the system in e3 , i lost my interested. Demo looked like it was out of a X360 so i strongly beleive , next gen Nintendo system will be once again ages behind PC/PS4 and X720 hardware wise which maybe we will have once again the same issue as this gen ... Outdated hardware which will lead to downgraded games ( multis ). I dont want to play downgraded games. I want to pay and be able to play the best version possible. I know , zelda and mario.. Ok i can live without 2-3 games plus is no big deal , you can always rent. Ill see how will do . I wont buy it first day/month etc. After a year ill judge , when i see Ps4/X720 specifications that is.AzatiSThey used 360 and PS3 footage because Nintendo didn't like how it looked when the developers were using underclocked Dev-kits.
But based on the hardware it is significantly more powerful then the 360 and PS3.
Also a Sony rep said they think the PS4 will only be marginally more powerful then the PS3.
But I think the PS4 and Wii U could actually be close in terms of Power. I don't know or care what the Xbox 720 is because they already said Kinect will be an integral part of the 720.
I definitely remember it. I'm using a wait and watch tactic for the Wii-U. So far it's not a day 1 buy for me, but Nintendo isn't stupid, they know what they're doing. If they say they're going to support the core gamer more next gen, I'm inclined to believe them. But they have to prove it to me first.WithoutGraceXIIthis is almost exactly how I feel. The only consoles I'm looking forward to next gen are from Sony and Ninte

Nope, unless nintendo do something miraculous I'm not even going to look at the system. It will take more than another zelda and mario to get me interested. Realistically the only console I'm interested in is sony's, because MS doesn't seem to want non kinect exclusives anymore.
I care, the Wii U controller looks to possibly solve something that I have despised about gaming controllers for a long time now. Lack of buttons. The touch screen could solve this issue however.
However, I will not buy it until there are enough games for it that interest me.
I don't really care right now. Nothing about the console has really sparked my interest. Not the gimmicky controller or pre-rendered game videos or luke-warm reaction at best from developers or reports the console is or has been in 'development hell'.
Other than that it sounds great.
I'm really excited for it, its a shame that they haven't said anything relevant since E3 but there is still a lot of time before we get to see the console working properly, the controller seems like such a great idea and while i'm not liking the streaming feature that much i can't wait to see how developers will implement the controller in SP games, an inventory in the controller and a free screen of any indicators is the obvious choice, but i'm sure we will see interesting ideas for such a versatile controller, so yeah, i really care for it.
Isn't it supposed to be technically on-par with the 360/PS3, or only slightly superior?princeofshapeir
Right now it's not at all clear how powerful the Wii U is. The third-party game footage shown (Ninja Gaiden etc.) was taken from the 360/PS3 versions rather than genuinely running on the Wii U. If it's only a bit above the current generation it would be a poor investment for those wanting multi-platform games.
Given the bad history Nintendo has had with 3rd party devs and their heavy hesitance towards adopting features that are already common in the industry(proper online multiplayer infrastructure, a non rigid marketplace that actually evolves with the times, allows devs to get paid regardless of meeting sales quotas or not and also allow them to support their games post release with patches or price drops, clunky and overly abstract controllers, etc.), I won't bother with the Wii U until it drops to the $150 mark like the Wii. Zelda and Metroid alone, assuming they'll get a decent amount of releases next gen instead of getting tossed under Mario's shadow again, are not enough for me to put up with Nintendo's indecisiveness in what their systems are and what they want tto do with them.
[QUOTE="greenskittles"]Really? What if it turns out to be ... crap?peterw007
At least it will have Nintendo 1st/2nd-party games on it. They more than warrant a console purchase.
Assuming they even release most of those games in all territories where all Wii U gamers can play them.Even with the limited info we have and almost complete lack of software shown yet, I have nothing but faith in the potential.

^^^^^^^Yip, thats how I feel also, feel like Nintendo hasnt been giving me what I want for a long time now, like I've been missing out on a lot by just owning a Nintendo system.
Nintendo systems aren't bad so long as they're just your secondary consoles and were bought for very cheap. :)^^^^^^^Yip, thats how I feel also, feel like Nintendo hasnt been giving me what I want for a long time now, like I've been missing out on a lot by just owning a Nintendo system.

What if turns out...great? That would be amazing but what's the point of committing to one console so much yourself when you know so little.

The word probably indicates that it means "based on what we know so far and what scenarios are most likely, _text_"
For me, having experienced current gen as an owner of PS3+Wii, it looks like I'll go Wii U only because one of the reason why I bought the PS3 was for the blu-ray player and since movies will still be in blu-ray format next gen PS4 just lost a selling point to me. Additionally, I only care for a few multiplat series such as MGS, NHL etc. so if I can get those on Wii U, which is a very likely scenario, there is literally no need for me to get a PS4.

I think I and most people will agree there were some console that were not worth the hundreds of dollars for the few games that came out for it. An example of this from a earlier poster is the Virtual Boy.greenskittlesThat console flopped badly. But every recent console, heck even the dreamcast, had worthwhile games

I am a gamer, so if a console has appealing games, I will get it. I always get Nintendo systems because am a fan that likes their games. Sony's PSP and Ps3 had appealing games so I bought it. Same with 360. I would only stick with WiiU if the next xbox and playstation don't have the appealing games.
