No. the score means very little to me and often times i would of given a different score for the same game (could be lower or higher) - after I have played it.
The main reason i came to Gamespot was realy 2 reasons.
1. Gamespot had a well laid out website that was easy to navigate through. Back in 2007 when i joined it was MUCH easier then IGN and Gametrailers.
2. The forums were much more constrained, Didn't feel like i was dealing with a lot of trolls. Even then with the TOU's, i felt the sort of people who gravitated here were not or were not as pompous and blow hard as many of the posters i've seen on other game sites (Escapist comes to mind...).
I do enjoy the writers a lot here on Gamespot, Kevin VanOrd - i enjoy his style of review. I know reviewing should not be like a mirror and often times i disagree with VanOrd's opinions, but he is by far the closest to my own tastes in games. If he likes it, and i have an interest, chances are i'm going to really like it as well.
I enjoy the other writers here as well, Tom McShea, Chris Watters, and Carolyn Petit. But that doesn't mean i only listen to their opinion. I also like what Shane, Marcus, Bloodworth, and the guys at Gametrailers, I also follow Greg Miller, Clements, and Colin at IGN's PS3. Also Adam Sessler and Morgan Webb at G4.
Generally when looking at reviewers, i hit those 4 sites up. Gamespot, G4, IGN, Gametrailers.
