The PS2 has been out far longer. I think it's safe to say the Wii has an abundance of minigames right now.

the wii is the only original concept for a video game system. the ps3 is just an upgraded version of the ps2. same with the 360 from the xbox. my god, the ps3 controller looks exactly the same as the old ps2 controller. people consistently knock the wii's graphics, but that's just cuz they don't want to take on the majority who think they suck. i'm ready to take on the majority, and rocks, and tomatoes. in youtube videos of the console wars, they show cutscenes from the ps3 and xbox 360, but gameplay from the wii. these are completely bias. of course cutscenes look nicer, that's the whole point of them. people always use the game, legend of zelda: twilight princess as a graphic comparison to the other consoles. you may think: yes, this game is the wii's pride and joy, however, it's simply a port from the gamecube. this game wasn't originally designed for the wii until it began serious production. then they just changed the controls to fit the wii's motion sensors. also, people use wii sports, a pack in game. oh my god, wii sports is not meant to show off flashy design, it's to show the motion sensitivity of the wii remote and just how accurate it is. if you want a fair comparison, look at games such as sonic and the secret rings, red steel, and the famous super smash bros brawl. compare the graphics of sonic and the secret rings with sonic the hedgehog for the ps3 and 360. no, not the cutscenes, the actual gameplay, and you'll see that they both look very similar. you see a blue hedgehog with his hair bouncing up and down as he's running around, collecting rings. now tell me, are the wii's graphics that mediocre? come on, playstation 3 and xbox 360, all of their games are first person shooters with different varieties of machine guns, shot guns, and snipers. cept halo...halo's cool. the wii offers a vast variety of games from driving a car using a steering wheel (excite truck), to flipping food in a pan just like you would in a kitchen (cooking mama), but without the heat. wii is not an upgraded version of the gamecube, but it's own console, and i believe that nintendo should be praised for their originallity of hands on gameplay. just givin my 2 cents.flip4soccer

Some problems with your post. First of all, saying that all PS3 and 360 games are first person shooters is a gross exxageration. Neither of them have an overabundance. In fact, I bet you the Wii will have the most FPS's by the end of it's lifetime.

Secondly, the "not a fair comparison" arguement goes both ways. True, comparing PS3 and 360 cutscenes to Wii gameplay is not fair. However, it's also not fair to use Sonic as an indicator of PS3 and 360 graphics capabilities.

I have heard a lot of talk about the Wii being a "secondary" or "backup" console to the other two systems. What does System Wars say?

I haven't spent enough quality time with the Wii myself, so I consider myself neutral.

no the wii will be my only console this gen. im tired of buying the same harware for a little leap in graphics to play some rehashed sequals, i need something new and fresh, and the wii is just what the doctor ordered 8)sexy_luigi

That's a good point. If companies see they can make a profit by creating relatively simple games catered to a non-gaming crowd, I believe we'll see the overall quality of games start to fall.

A Wii would replace my GC on the pecking order....360, PS2, PSP, GC/Wii

 I guess that makes it a 4th console.
