What he/she said.I certainly appreciate good graphics, but I can overlook them in the event that everything else is good. So, no, not really.

i think so... seems i cant play a system from last gen when i play on a next gen system. unless i go back further then 1 gen
depends on the game genre, i dont care for graphics on an RPG or a game that will last me 50+ hours... but a a game that lasts like 6-10 hours like FPS/TPS and that stuff, yeah i expect good graphics. also atmosphere heavy games like survival horrors / suspense games really benefit from good graphics...
Do you?

As I sit here watching GT5 B-Spec mode, I'm going to say noooooo. Graphics are nice, but I'll take functional gameplay over pretty visuals. Personally I don't like how much the visual aspect is stressed. It boggles my mind how such a clunky game like Gears of War--a game i used to be a big fan of--is considered one of the best of the generation. Graphics are just icing on the cake.
I enjoy high end graphics, but I also enjoy games like Minecraft and a variety of oldies.
I guess I'm a bit of a graphics junky, but I don't let that get in the way of enjoying games that are good. The main thing for me, visuals wise, is ensuring a clean and crisp image. I'd sooner turn down graphical settings than resolution.
Way to generalize. Everyone says sheep aren't here anymore, yet look at the poll. What a conundrum. Maybe most people just don't think graphics are that big a deal anymore? If graphics were not a big deal they wouldnt have $500 graphics cards for pc. They are a big deal. Sheep have spent this whole gen convincing themselves it is not a big deal because they had to, I wonder how it would be if nintendo had released the most powerful system this gen.[QUOTE="Advid-Gamer"]
LOl most of the hell no I dont care about graphics are the sheep. Its 2010 people, games need to have good gameplay and graphics, no one wants to play a pretty picture it needs both. I can enjoy older ulgy games to a extent but I would rather just play something newer that has both.

Quality technical graphics don't necessarily have to be realistic. So yes, I would consider myself a whore for quality technical graphics.

Graphics have always ben a big deal, the push towards good visuals always existed, since forever. And will continue to improve.
I'm a PC elitist at heart, with a up to date PC, i love fantastic graphics. I can generalize a bit and say that the people that are obsessed with criticizing games with fantastic visuals, telling me they lack gameplay, are people without the hardware/consoles to play new gen. games. Gameplay is gameplay, CoD BO has gameplay, Crysis has great gameplay, i love that game.
But that's were it ends. I love good visuals, but they never EVER were a necessity to me. I played a crap ton of 90's games for the first time in 2010, and they be playing just fine, and hella entertaining. I recently picked up a SNES & PS1 and i love them. I can go on and on.
A necessity? That, i consider bulls*** and complete crap standards, man.
[QUOTE="Half-Way"]That is because graphics on the consoles are trickery. Most views are just textures pasted on a wall in the distance, where as Crysis actually had a huge world with those graphics. Modern PC graphics are still doing cool things, and they are spilling onto the consoles, like ID megatextures.yes, but unlike most people on SW, i dont really care for the technical side of graphics, i dont see me get impressed by any of them since crysis.
But Artistic games on the other hand, i have a huge thing for those.
Iw been playing all the best looking ones this gen. And imo Muramasa is really one of the best looking games ever made.
haberman13
thats common knowledge,
but despite the knowledge of the power behind it, the looks are subjective, you dont choose to like 1 game more then the other based on the facts presented to you.
You simply just do like the looks. And the hand drawn animations and level of detail on Muramasa impress me very much. It truly is the best looking game this gen imo.

Don't know why you constantly focus on what sheep and Nintendo are doing?[QUOTE="Advid-Gamer"]

At the game store I dont' have to look through hundreds of kids games to find mine. There are 2 different markets for gamers hardcore spend a lot of time and money into it, and the casual, usually involves gimmicks like touchscreen or motion control. Like i tried an iphone game once and laughed.[QUOTE="Advid-Gamer"][QUOTE="Bigboi500"]Way to generalize. Everyone says sheep aren't here anymore, yet look at the poll.
