I believe many of the complaints about Twilight Princess are about things that hardcore fans of the series enjoy and applause.
The only significant criticism from any paid reviewer is that the series hasn't evolved.
The Japanese audience doesn't want the game to evolve. I don't want the game to evolve, and a whole lot of people don't want the game to evolve.
I loved it just like it was, and for some reason, adding voice acting or a leveling systems seems like it would screw game game up, more than it would help it.
Sorry, that's just my opinion.
That said, the game is still as critically acclaimed as anyone should expect, won GotY on Xplay, and many other sites, and the only reviewer, singluar, with the gall to actually call Nintendo on the non-evolution of Zelda, was Gurstman, who is now fired, and it turns out that giving Twilight Princess a less than perfect score was his biggest claim to fame, and has made him the hero of Lemmings, Hermits, and Cows everywhere.
It's a fact that most of the people who hate on the game, have never finished, or even played it. Same for Halo 3. The few who actually didn't like it after finishing it are one of three things:
A. Very poor at recognizing quality in a game.
B. Influenced and emboldened by the gamespot review.
C. Twitch-shooter hyperactive gamers who dislike the genre already.
Taking this series and all of its games for granted is a shame, but its the cost you pay for bringing gaming to the mainstream.
