Assassin's Creed..man this game is so awful, same crap over and over and over again. I just need to finish it so I don't feel stupid I dropped $60 bucks on this game.

Mass Effect..Its ok but the battle system is pretty awful. Can't believe this came from the same people that brought us Gears of War.

All 3 Halos..The game just feels so old school, kinda like Goldeneye 007 for the N64.

Yeap, has happened to me with some games. But I force myself to finish them... just to say... I finished them. I don't like leaving games on the middle of it. I HAVE to finish it. I just have to it. I'm sorry don't judge me for what I am

Forced myself to play Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest on SNES. After the greatness of FF2 (IV in Japan), I was very disappointed in Mystic Quest.

The metroid prime series....they had good graphics, atmosphere, and music, but it was just so boring. There were no other characters for you to talk with.

If I'm forcing myself to play a game, I stop playing. :?

I don't have the free time to compulsively beat every game I have...

Killer 7 was not fun to play but damn I had to see the story and how it ended.

Mostly this happens with games I get as gifts. Heck I never finished Family Guy the Game but I played it just bc my friend got it for me.

Recently I got COD4 and I'm forcing my way through it. I give it alot of credit for having some truly WTF moments but I just don't like the genre. Nothing fun about pretending to be a real soldier killing real people and then throwing some patriotic music on top of it. Ugh. But I gotta finish it cause it was a gift, but soon after I'm trading it in for Nights on the Wii.

I believe many of the complaints about Twilight Princess are about things that hardcore fans of the series enjoy and applause.

The only significant criticism from any paid reviewer is that the series hasn't evolved.

The Japanese audience doesn't want the game to evolve. I don't want the game to evolve, and a whole lot of people don't want the game to evolve.

I loved it just like it was, and for some reason, adding voice acting or a leveling systems seems like it would screw game game up, more than it would help it.

Sorry, that's just my opinion.

That said, the game is still as critically acclaimed as anyone should expect, won GotY on Xplay, and many other sites, and the only reviewer, singluar, with the gall to actually call Nintendo on the non-evolution of Zelda, was Gurstman, who is now fired, and it turns out that giving Twilight Princess a less than perfect score was his biggest claim to fame, and has made him the hero of Lemmings, Hermits, and Cows everywhere.

It's a fact that most of the people who hate on the game, have never finished, or even played it. Same for Halo 3. The few who actually didn't like it after finishing it are one of three things:

A. Very poor at recognizing quality in a game.

B. Influenced and emboldened by the gamespot review.

C. Twitch-shooter hyperactive gamers who dislike the genre already.

Taking this series and all of its games for granted is a shame, but its the cost you pay for bringing gaming to the mainstream.

Zenfoldor

The only complain I have about TP is that it just doesn't have the EPIC feel that was in OoT and MM, that's why I hated WW, it didn't feel EPIC to me, it just felt like a kiddy game.

same with TP, I was really hyped for this game when I first heard about it, but after playing it, it still has the feel of WW, which I hate.

Zelda == EPIC, that's the definition of a Zelda game in my book.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The only reason why I finished it was because it was a Zelda game, and that it did have a few elements that weren't painfully boring.

Usually if I'm not having fun I'll just stop playing, simple as that. But sometimes if I've spent money to buy a game I want to at least see if it gets any better, and might stick to it a bit longer, or if I've heard it gets better, has good story or something. Examples could be Oblivion(didn't get any better and didn't finish), Halo(did get better and did finish), Gothic3(did get better, then worse, haven't finished yet), Farcry(kept getting worse, didn't quite finish).

That happens to me a lot. But it's like reading a good, but slow starting book. At first you are forcing yourself to get through it, but you eventually cant put it down

I never force myself - I just switch between games continuously.

Exept for Dead Rising. Getting some of those acheivements... never again im going to do it.

I got that feeling alot while playing Super Mario Galaxy. I was hoping it was Mario's come back. But after beating it in six hours and seeing nothing really new it became aparent that the game was almost as over rated as last year's The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess.... Well, at least SMG isn't a port....vashkey

what a mess of a post. i cant be bothered to even correct it its that bad

but yea my one this year has got to be

FORZA 2 - awful game fullstop. done quite a bit of the single player but felt forced upon it as i had nothing amoung my games to complete. The races are boring...well everything was boring about it. colin mccrae dirt which i brought at same time is ALOT better

Viva Pinata - I thought the demo of this was alright so went out and got it....what a mistake that was played for a while then it just got so tedious

Ill agree with Nintendo, because my bro got me a wii and i didn't want to admit it's a flop so far. Also Doom 3 when i got my first decent PC, it was supposed to be the best game ever and i found it repetitive and boring.

Actually I agree with you to a degree.

Alot of racing games ive played - sims mostley (not that Forza is exaclty a sim) are alot more enjoyable when you have a wheel.

Forza feels like a drag with a pad, but once you play it with a wheel the game is suddenly a world better.

Like playing a flight sim on a pad, then moving to a joystick.

For instance GTR2. The game is more intense than many shooters with a wheel, and its the most hardcore racing sim out there.

you mean like in a Pac-Man game where you know you lost a life too early in the game and you know there's no way that this run will be a high score but you keep playing it out to see what your score will be anyways?? I do that all the time :)

I've forced myself to keep playing games before a recent example is Hellgate London (what a let down that is). I'm not forcing myself to play it to show off it's because i've paid good money for it and I want to finish it.

The last one would probably be Oblivion for me. The game was such a major dissapointment coming from MOrrowind. I forced myself to play because of my deep love for Elder Scrolls games, but I just cant do it anymore.

I'm probably the only person to say this in this thread, but I forced myself through a few hours of Half Life 2. I came into the game thinking "Oh! It's the greatest game ever made!" and the intro really set up the tone of the game, but I just thought that things got boring reallly quickly. Lots of just running around with a pistol shooting Combine dudes from half a mile away and dealing with those tenticle things that would survive me shooting an exploding barrel right under them. And the zombie things were just annoying, all they did was yell like a donkey and try to walk slowly towards me. I know there has to be a great game underneath all of these problems, but this just left a bad taste in my mouth.

Halo 2 and 3 were both games I had to force upon myself. I was unable to finish Halo 3. I just didn't have the willpower to make it through that game.

Just use a crowbar on the tentacle things. Let them pick you up and smack em real good when they get close enough.
