It depends really. If a game is designed for HD, but then played on SD it looks like **** most of the time. If a game is made at SD res and played at that RES, it looks pretty nice still, but HD just makes things a lot clearer and makes distant objects/small things much more good looking. It just brings out the detail in games that you have never seen before. Like my headphones/music statement.Do you really need HD to enjoy your console?

Essentially that's all SD and HD is, with the first one being SD and the second HD. They're basically the same thing (cheeseburgers) but the second looks (and probably tastes) a hell of a lot better.
