Do You Get Offended When Your Favourite Game Gets Bashed!?

Do you get offended when your favourite games get bashed called overrated etc etc.

Do you try to defend your game no matter what..

or can you take the criticism because its just someones opinion and you know the game teh best anyway!

If it's System Wars I'm always happy to fight "bashing". In real life, I offer my point of view, accept that of my opponent, and get on with my day by enjoying the company of my games.

i don't get offended, that would be weird. but i do like to make people justify there opinions just to make sure there not some fanboy that never played the game.

you can't have an opinion if you have never played it, also if someone review a game with a 1/10 then there opinion is worthless too

sometimes I get defensive, but it's all what this place is about so it's within reason

I like mainstream, critically acclaimed games like Halo, so they get bashed a lot by the cool kids. :(

i would if someone bashed RDR :P how can you not like hogtying a wench to the train tracks xD.Or dragging someone off horse and along the ground, also rampaging with a bandanna never gets old NEVER!!!

Offended no, I get annoyed when people bash my favorite games for stupid or false reasons though.

No because not many people have played many of my favorite games eg. Psychonauts, Giants: Ciizen Kabuto and many others. so they barely get bashed.

Depends on how the game is bashed if the game in question is being sparsely bashed; eg: X game sucks!, without any backed statements then its mostly an annoyance which would be a waste of time to counter argue. However if the game is well criticized and statements backed then I welcome the challenge of debating against it.

Honestly no reason to get offended if favorite game is bashed. You can't really expect everyone to like a game.

Something's wrong if they're bashing FF9, how can you not like the game? :P

Meh, not really anymore. I just choose to ignore the bashing. Why should someone else's opinion that I don't even know ruin my enjoyment of a game?

Only when it is a clear as day that the person hasn't played the game. I have been seeing this latley and not just on these forums either.

Depends if they are bashing it with no knowledge of what their talking about just bashing it without ever playing it then I get offended. But if they actually played it and just don't like it then I don't care because it is there oppinion.

If certain gamers actually learnt how to accept constructive criticism more effectivly.. perhaps then they'll stop acting like spoilt bratts by throwing their dummys out of their prams when answering forums concerning favourite franchises !

Most of my favourite games rarely get bashed. Paper Mario for instance. The only time when someone talked negatively about it, was when someone told me it was not an RPG. I was not even sure what that was supposed to mean, but it probably had something to do with some JRPG FF elitism that I can't comprehend, so I just rest my case.

Jazz Jackrabbit 2 never gets bashed because noone outside of Holland seems to have played it (and inside Holland it is or it was wildly popular).

Metroid Prime Trilogy never gets bashed because everybody accepts it is godlike (user score of 9.6 lolwut).

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath never gets bashed because everyone conveniently forgot to actually play it when it came out. Best classic Xbox game there was at a budget price, bad deal I guess.

Pretty much the only games I can think of are Mario Kart Wii, but this is easy to defend as its predecessors were obviously inferior with the exception of DS. And Twilight Princess which is my favourite game in the series to date. I never really got the problem people had with it.

Not really, I loved Zelda before OOT came out and OOT just happened to become my favorite game of all time... It only gets bashed when people call it overrated and that's fine with me. Eventually the kids won't understand OOT at all.

one of my favorite series is King of Fighters and it being the polar opposite 2D fighter, I've grown to enjoy the hate/criticism.

another favorite is Sonic, it really has been a bad decade for Sonic - but I still enjoy the originals.
