Do you guys notice this?

The 360 has basically taken over North America? Ok before you flame me, just listen...The other day I went to my local Hollywood Video to pick up Madden for its midnight release. The guy at the counter asked me if I wanted to sign up for the Madden tournament, in return I asked him what system was this tournament taking place on. He gave me a crazy look and said "the 360 of course." Personally, I hate the ps3 controller, the 360 controller is better for every genre. Anyway back on topic, it seems like every place that has multi-platform tournaments like this are ALWAYS on the 360. Another thing i've noticed is I only have 1 or 2 friends who actually own a ps3, on the other hand I have like 20+ friends that have 360's. Whenever I hear people taking about playing games online, its always about playing on Live. Maybe the state I live in is just hardcore lemming, but does anybody else notice these things but me?

Very true, I don't think I have ever heard of a PS3 Lan Party. I think a lot of the Playstations fanbase is teenagers around 13-18 and the first system they played was either PS1/PS2. All they have known is Playstation so they automatically think its the best...

So because a video rental store had a 360 tournament and only 2 of your friends (out of the almost 400 million people living in North America) have a PS3 the 360 has taken over North America ? Yet the 360 has only outsold the PS3 twice in North America this year.EVOLV3

The 360 already has an installed user base in NA, you know a lot of Playstation fans were waiting for Sony to drop some of there bigger franchises before they made the upgrade. It's not like the 360 has had a huge year for games either. I'm just saying whenever I listen to people talk about games, usually just casual people they always talk about the Wii or 360. I have never heard a single person say "lets go play some COD4 on PSN" it doesn't even sound right...

No it will be on one HDTV with a list. They have also been doing guitar hero there. When they were doing one at my local Wall-mart there was some wanted guy on the list. Which was caught because someone saw his name on the list. Kinda funny

I only have 2 friends that own PS3s. Mostly everyone in my school either owns a Wii, a 360, or just both.

It's understanding, seeing as the 360 just screams "Hardcore" which most people like. The 360 is like the PS2 around my parts. When I ask my friends why won't they get a PS3 they always say "Ps3 wah?". And they were the main ones that owned a PS2 and couldn't care less about the Xbox.

360=PS2 this gen according to acknowledgment and established household entertainment systems in NA.

Let's park this uninformed discussion right now:

360 version of Madden has been the version played by the PROS (Madden Nation; Madden Tournaments) since at least 2006. The reasons are obvious:

• 360 version became the first nextGen version

• 360 version remained technically superior to the PS3 version and Wii version when the game became offered on both platforms.

• ...and now, people have gotten used to playing it on the 360 in tournaments. no reason to fix what hasn't been broken.

Personally, I haven't kept up enough with Madden this year to know if the 360 version is still technically superior to the PS3 version...but again, it doesn't matter.
