What's next? Blu Ray support? I hope so, the quality isn't worth the often +$10 more than the DVD version.

None of the above features you mentioned are pricey to include.

Like I said earlier...
That would be sweet. If Sony get digital distribution right by not overpricing the hardware, causing people to falsely believe that digital distribution is made of fail, then I am all for it.
I had to sell my PS3 because they removed the OS feature. I just didn't want it anymore.aaronmullanMine's on eBay as we speak. Sexybeast225 is the highest bidder so far! Are you guys serious? My sarcasm detector is a very old model so I need to ask

are you saying that a bluray movie quality isnt much better than dvd???? wow, you need a new tv or new eyeballs.[QUOTE="BPoole96"]
Linux was removed to avoid hacking, even though apparently you can still use Linux somehow after the patch.
BC was taken out to lower the manufacturing price so they could drop the price.
USB ports were removed so they could drop the price
What's the point of a memory card reader when it doesn't have BC?
And you think they would take away blu-ray? That would be kind of useless to sell a console that doesn't even play its own games
EvanTheGamer
Anything to make it cheaper to produce.
The PS3 has advanced a lot since it was launched
BPoole96
If by advance you mean downgrade...
Why wouldn't they make it cheaper to produce? Sony was losing money with every console sold. In order for them to do a price cut they would have to cut some things out so they wouldn't lose even more money than before.
If you compare the PSN now to what it was when it launched you wouldn't be saying its been downgraded
[QUOTE="DarkLink77"][QUOTE="AgentA-Mi6"] What are you talking about? The Sixaxis has absolutely nothing to do with the decision to remove BC.Yeah, but I bet the Sixaxis cost a good amount of money to develop and manufacture in the controllers. I would have rather had them remove the Sixaxis than BC. That is absolutely false dude, Sony's biggest investments were the Cell processor and the Blu Ray disc format, The controller was the least of Sony's expenses, on what are you basing to claim that Development and Manufacture of Sixaxis controllers was more expensive than the E.E chip old Ps3 models had, besides didn't sony replace the Sixaxis with the DS3 wich is more expensive due to the inclusion of rumble? The consumer wanted Rumble back and here it is despite the higher cost (five dollars more lol).AgentA-Mi6
I didn't say it was more expensive. I said I'd rather have BC, and maybe if they hadn't focused on the Sixaxis at first, they could have saved some money and kept BC. Wishful thinking, true, but, w/e.

My point was that removing some of the features in order to sell your console means you messed up. Here's hoping that it's a practice that doesn't continue.[QUOTE="DarkLink77"]
