I chose probably....>.>
I'm not a huge fan of the Final Fantasy type of Jrpgs and the likes....bleh..who am I kidding? I HATE them.
I think the only JRPG that has ever strocked my fancy was Shenmue (maybe because it didn't play at all like your everyday jrpg game) but that game was and still is a pinacle in Jrpgs imo.....I really hope they make a third >.>
EDIT:
Some would argue it's adventure, but I think otherwise.
Shenmue was a good game actually. Yea, Final Fantasy isn't very good. big feather haired nancy's.

*looks at pool*
No. I do not hate them. Hell I would be lying if I said that the gaming media is devoid of even a single JRPG that I've enjoyed.
Cause for criticism is present in any type of RPG. I could argue that the JRPG genre has become somewhat stale and that its progression has been gained somewhat do to WRPGs. That does not exclude WRPGs from criticism though.
The JRPG genre is mostly attacked do to some formed stereotype: Whether it be anime centered or monotonous been there done that, predictable plot driven... but I guess it's all about subjective views and tastes. Not every JRPG is the same and the very same falls to WRPGs.
One could attack the JRPG genre with a condescending view based on anime references and label it as childish drivel(and to note, I do not hate anime, quite in fact I have enjoyed quite a few: Though mostly movies, instead of series). One could attack many(but definitely not all) WRPGs with a condercending view based on traditional fantasy and label it as a childish drivel, with universes that are bereft of any originality to begin with that have been done to death already. How many Elf and whatever else races of every single freaking color can you create untill it starts to become a tedious process...
What I mean is that many people always try to label everything according to their supposed standards and subjective views. But peoples tastes and level of what they consider to be mature and fresh is simply different/varied.
no, quite the contrary, in fact just earlier today i finished Phantasy star for the sega master systemst1ka
The final boss is really tough. I was never able to defeat him

equip odin with the laser gun ( he never misses his target with that) have Allis attack, Myau on healing and the ocasional attack, and order Noah to cast wind everytime (that thing has 3 strikes)
eventually you will kill him
No, but they don't make them like they used to.
Or maybe I should say that the design of most of the newest Japanese RPGs doesn't appeal to me.
[QUOTE="Kez1984"]This is a topical question.blackace
Where's the "NO" option. LOL!! I love WRPG's and JRPG's.
What's "topical"? Did you mean "typical"?
Im guessing he said topical because of all the talk of JRPG's lately from 360 fanboys.
