People need to realise IT'S NOT A BIG DEAL. You are not SWITCING DISCS EVERY 5 minutes. It makes NO difference at all to have a 2-3 disc game. Does it effect Gameplay? No. The only thing it can effect is your inabilty to keep them in order. say you lost ONE disc. Then you will be screwed, discs are not sold seperatly.

I've been switching disks for games ever since they came on 3.5 and 5 inch floppy disks... I wouldn't mind having to do it again one bit if the game's even remotely good

I forgot to say, i don't mind at all and the only way it would get annoying is if it was on a free roaming game like GTA, where if you walked past an imaginary line you would have to switch disks.

I do mind, its just the fact that if i have a really good game running on more than one disc and one of the other disc's gets damaged in some way than that would really suck. Happend to a lot of us PS1 gamers back in the day.

No I do not. I am highly skilled in the art of disk switching, this may be my reason for a high tolerance for a feature such as this.

Switching discs was exhausting back in the PS1 era.

I hope people won't have to go through that, except the Lemmings. They need the exercise.

The answer is obviously no. If a game is great I dont mind switching discs. But, of course I would prefer not to. PS3 deserves credit for making sure that doesn't happen on their console. I'm sure it makes things simpler for the devs too

I would hate to have to switch the disk, what if you wanted to play the beginning again, or someone else in your family started the game after you, you'd be switching the disk all the time.

But tbh, in this day and age, i dont see any game needing 2 disks, im sure the devs would find a way to fit it onto 1 disk.

I mean Mass Effect is on one disk as is Oblivion.

So enough talk about changing disks please.

In 2007? Yes,we got rid of the multiple discs problem with the Ps2,if a game releases in 2007/8 with multiple discs then the extra discs should be a bonus/extra content disc, not game disc.

It isn't the act of switching disks that annoys me, I have no problem stopping a game for a minute or so and walking 5 feet to the console. What bothers me about having tw switch disks is the feeling that the game is almost over that accompanies the second half of the game once you hae made that inevitable change to the second disk (it was torture with Skies of Arcadia on Dreamcast, I wanted that game to last forever.). I'm sure most people don't suffer from this though.

overall no. sometimes it can get pretty bad (planescape torment on PC being the worst i can think of) where i had to change the disc once or twice an hour which interrupts the immersion (cracking game though). but if its once every 10-15 hours or so then i couldnt really care less. i certainly had no probs doing it with FFVII or VIII.

I hated switching disks in Diablo 2, and it didn't even give me a choice to skip the cinematics, so I had to pop in the Cinematics disk
I'd imagine that I would be very annoyed switching disks in a game like GTA....lmao....switching disks jsut to go to a different area or city.

I don't mind. It's not like you're switching discs every few minutes; there's hours at a time between disc switches, so I don't see why people have a problem with doing it.

No, most games that have more than one disc are long games. And for the lazy (talking about the 360 Disc Space)...all you have to do it put the CD in and go down a few tabs...including myself...:P

But anyways, no, I really don't mind. It doesn't bother me.

Anyone that thinks walking 10 feet at most to change a game disc is a lot of work then not only do you need that extra work but you should be doing a lot more.

Yes and no. Sometimes I like it, because that means when I get to a certain point in the story (games with multiple discs are almost always RPG's) and I think its over, I can just relax because I obviously have the knowledge that there is more to it since there are other discs. Then, on the other hand, that also kind of ruins the experience... ultimately though, I could care less if a game has more than one disc. The way I see it is that I'm getting more for my money :P If I cared, I wouldn't be buying Blue Dragon, which apparently has three discs.

OH Dear god no!!! Why have you cursed me in such a way? Why would you ever make me get up not once but 4 times. Curse all the animals that walk the earth, curse the sky and ground alike for me having to get up to change a disc 4 times.

Really how hard is it to walk from a sofa to a console and change a disc.

Since the discs for te 360 scratch easily and the 360 may damage them, yes it would be a risk to have multiple discs for a game. Would want one of them to not be playable...

I disagree, changing a disc 4 times whilst playing 1 game is simply unacceptable. The lack of a larger disc format on the 360 is a problem. And if Blue-Dragon is any indication,it will be quite a bigger one as time progresses.

You only have to change discs probably once every 40 hours worth of game time.... why the hell would that be an issue? You'd have to be pretty darn lazy to care about that, try playing a Wii, maybe it will get you into shape.

Do I mind switching discs? No. Do I want to switch discs? No. If technology is advanced enough where we don't have to switch discs, why would we want to? I would rather not switch discs if I don't have to. It's much more convenient.

It depends on three factors: -How many discs there are (Three or four is near my upper limit. If it's like the CD version of UT 2004 and comes on SIX discs, that's just going too far, even if I just have to use one of them after the initial install process.) -How many times I have to swap discs (Ever played Hired Guns on the Amiga without installing it to the hard drive? That game came on FIVE FLOPPY DISKS, and you had to CONSTANTLY SWAP THEM. It gets irritating VERY quickly.) -At what points in the game I have to make a disc swap (If it's swapping after a major cutscene in a JRPG or going to a new area in a fairly linear game like MGS:TTS, then it's okay. If it's driving on towards another portion of the GTA map and suddenly having to swap discs, on the other hand...)
